Great host, cool apartment & location. Julien was a dream host. Very responsive, above & beyond helpful with recommendations. The perfect stay in Amsterdam. Loved this stay & would absolutely stay here again.
We can’t say enough about Julian. Communication was stellar, he greeted us and helped us up the stairs with our bags, gave great suggestions and you can tell he really loves Amsterdam. The BnB was immaculate and had everything we needed. Short walk to tram 12 and markets. Neighbors were very friendly and we even saved a cat!We WILL stay here on our next visit !!
Julien was friendly and attentive. He made sure our stay was everything we hoped for. The apartment was a perfect size and location (we very much enjoy the De Pijp area) for us!
We really enjoyed our stay in de Pijp. The suite is very pleasant and clean and Julien is very responsive. A short walk to the metro, lots of great places to eat. Handy by metro to the tourist sites while not being in a touristy area. Highly recommended!
We really loved our stay at Julien’s place. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful but just minutes from the excitement of De Pijp. Also easy to get around from here. Julien was super helpful with check-in and recommendations. Highly recommend!
We loved staying at Julien’s place. Very clean and luxurious linens. Bright and welcoming space. Perfect for a couple. Communication was excellent. Julien is a great host! He even carried our luggage up to the third floor! Thanks for everything, Julien! Would definitely stay here again.
Exactly as advertised, wonderful and helpful host, and in a fantastic location. Easy to navigate for both walking and catching an Uber. Some construction nearby but was not an issue for us. Very comfortable bed, king size was important to us. Steps weren’t an issue and host was gracious enough to carry our live up for us. Tons of walkable shops, restaurants, markets, and so much more. Highly recommend!
I can not say enough positive things about this apt. Perfect location not far from the Di Pijp subway and steps away from the tram. The central station is only 10 mins away by tram or 35-minute walk, which we loved to do. Julien met us at the apt and made sure we had everything we needed. Pubs and stores were only a few minute's walk away. Apt was very clean and had everything we needed. Julien was a great host!!
Our plane arrived in Amsterdam earlier than our check-in time but we were able to check in with Julian as soon as we arrived! The place was very clean and welcoming! After 6 days the housekeeper came and cleaned the apartment for us. If we needed utensils or dishes washed, trash removed, or more clean towels that was all providedFor the 10 days we were there it was perfect for our stay and located with easy walking access to the Metro subway to get back and forth to Central Station. This little apartment was a great for our needs! I give it 5 stars!!
Julien’s place is a great option if you’re budget conscious and don’t mind staying a little further out. Quiet neighborhood with several walkable food and bakery options. Walkable to central in about an hour or take the tram 20 minutes. The place is very clean and you do have a fridge, kettle and Nespresso maker but I wouldn’t describe it as a kitchenette as there’s no kitchen sink—you have to wash your dishes and get your water from the bathroom. No biggie though and Julien will even wash your dishes if you leave them out overnight.
Julian was amazing. He meet us at check in, carried our luggage up the 3 flights of stairs, and gave us a tour and gave us some local recommendations. I was a little worried about there being no air conditioning, so Julian immediately went out and bought a fan. It was above and beyond and was really appreciated. The apartment was nice and clean and everything we needed. The climb up the stairs wasn’t bad.
We had a wonderful time in Juliens apartment. It was cozy, quiet and clean. Julien greeted us at the door and helped us getting our suitcases to the apartment. Prior to arriving, any questions we had were answered promptly. Even when we got there, if we needed ideas or recommendations of places to eat he would get back to us quickly. We wanted to have a tour on the canal and Julien recommended a lovely gentleman named Adrien who has a huge amount of knowledge about Amsterdam. Even had crackers, cheese and wine for the trip. Julien was a great host and we would definitely stay here again.
The apartment exuded a welcoming atmosphere with its pristine cleanliness and attractive decor. Situated in close proximity to the 4 and 12 trams, it offered a plethora of dining, laundry, and bakery options within walking distance. Additionally, its convenient location made it easy for ride services to locate. Julien went above and beyond by providing excellent restaurant recommendations and assisting with luggage and any other needs I had during my stay.
What a wonderful place to stay while visiting my son and daughter-in-law in Amsterdam! Julian’s place is in the De Pujp neighborhood of Amsterdam. Quiet. Quaint. Just outside the noise of the city but within walking distance, a short bike or tram ride. Julien was the perfect host. He made many recommendations of things to do or places to eat. He was attentive and responsive to any needs I might have. I look forward to returning the next time I’m in Amsterdam.
This was the perfect property for my sister and me. Our host Julien was amazing. He was friendly, helpful and attentive. He greeted us when we arrived, offered to carry our bags up the stairs and provided activity suggestions. He was also extremely accommodating with any needs or requests. The apartment was immaculate and well appointed. So nice to come home to after a long day! It is in a great area with so many things within walking distance. It was also nice to be in a quiet neighborhood and away from the crowds and noise. I would highly recommend this property and would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you Julien.
I can’t recommend this VRBO enough - everything about our stay here was perfect. The apartment itself is exceptionally clean with new, comfortable furniture. There is plenty of space within the apartment and is great for remote working - fast WiFi and a spacious desk. The location is amazing with tons of bars, restaurants, tram stops, and stores within walking distance. It’s walkable to the main tourist locations in Amsterdam and felt like a really safe neighborhood. Julien the host went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. He checked in via text several times to make sure we had everything we needed. Great host and really made our trip incredible. Definitely would book again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Julien's unit; it was well appointed for our stay and we came to feel at home by the end of our near-week-long stay. It's in a super quiet, sleepy enclave on the south end of De Pijp, yet its only a five minute stroll to a dozen tasty local restaurants and cafes; plus 5 minutes from the 12 Maasstraat stop and maybe 10 minutes from the De Pijp metro stop. Julien left a nice little document of recommended local spots for breakfast, lunch, and dinner too (Pizza Project and Scandinavian Embassy were repeat-visit highlights).
Julien was an awesome host; he was very communicative over WhatsApp (or VRBO messaging) and restocked our pillows and sheets (and left a bottle of wine!). The actual unit was even more spacious than it looked and had a great east-facing sunrise sky through all the windows (which have roller shades for dark sleeping conditions, so thankful for that!).
Highly recommend a stay here if you're visiting Amsterdam and looking for a pleasant spot to live like a local for a few days!
Let's just say that the host made my stay by far, the best experience with VRBO I've experienced. The property was clean, stocked and in a quiet central location. Julien however is who made the stay exceptional. he always replied and was super helpful. I am a retired French teacher and he made me feel super comfortable using either French or English. But the best part of his support was the "local tips" he provided. From the restaurants, pubs and sites to see, his connection gave me a real feel for Amsterdam. The best tip was recommending a personal friend to give me a canal tour. It was he, Adrian, and I plus the cheese, olives, beer and other hors d' oevures he brought. 3 hrs, + of his history and local knowledge of his native city. He was located within walking distance! I rate this stay as a hidden diamond in the city of Amsterdam!!
This apartment is in the southern part of the city where it is a bit quieter than the city center area. We love to have that flexibility when we travel; close to the action, but not so close that you can hear it all night. The metro and tram stops are easy walking distance from the apartment. You can buy a 24-hr. day pass and use it on both the metro and tram. Walking, bike riding, and public transportation are the main ways that people get around this city. The multitudes of bike riders takes some getting used to, but also makes this place feel healthy and vibrant. When we arrived at the apartment, we encountered the stairs. We were warned by friends about the steep stairs in Amsterdam, but we didn't find these 3 flights particularly intimidating. Julien met us at the door, took both of our suitcases up the stairs and showed us around the apartment. He has so many thoughtful appointments in the apartment including suggestions for eating, drinking and activities. He also offered snacks, soft drinks, cold water and a bottle of wine. The apartment is CLEAN! That is a priority for us and we were impressed that was a checked box! The bed was quite comfortable at the end of our active days.Julien simply could not have been a better host. He lives in the building and is quite accessible. He tries to think of everything that a traveler needs and hits the mark 100%.We would not hesitate to stay at this apartment again when we revisit Amsterdam. Highly recommend!
Julian greeted us as we exited the Uber and graciously carried both of our suitcases up the three flights of stairs. The apartment is well equipped, very clean, comfortable bed, and a very quiet neighborhood. The neighborhood is walking distance to lots of restaurants. We did not use Metro, but used Uber over to the Anne Frank house and also took a tour to visit the little villages of Amsterdam. Julian was responsive, left excellent instructions and tips for the neighborhood and made us feel right at home. I would not hesitate to stay here again, and if you’re trying to decide, choose this place, and you will have no regrets.
