About this property
Waterfront Puget Sound cabin, minutes from Bainbridge Ferry to downtown Seattle
*** Beginning Summer 2025 (June 2nd through September 28th) all summer bookings are per week, with a 6 night stay minimum, check-in on Mondays, check-out following Sunday or Monday morning. ****
This historic cabin is located right on the beach, just a few feet from the high tide mark. It's the only cabin immediately on the beach for miles either direction; all other houses are above at street level. The area is rich in Dungeness and Red Rock Crab (during open crab season). During the late Summer & Fall, salmon may be caught fishing right from shore. Or, just enjoy storm watching from the covered porch, with the wood burning nearby stove inside. Views of Mt Rainier, Puget Sound, the shipping lanes and North Seattle.
Just 90 minutes from downtown Seattle via the Seattle / Bainbridge Island ferry. Also within 15-30 minutes of Kingston, Poulsbo and the Suquamish Clearwater Casino and the Point Hotel and Casino.
This property is unique because it's the only cabin literally on the beach for miles either direction. The Puget Sound is immediately beyond the lawn covered bulkhead and covered porch. You may enjoy beach fires at night, with the Puget Sound on one side of you and the covered porch on the other.
*** IMPORTANT NOTICE *** : The cabin is accessible from the street above via a private beach trail. The trail starts as a gravel path and later becomes a custom boardwalk, 80 feet long and 5 feet wide. The hillside is steep in places. Inside the cabin, a log cabin style ladder / steps leads to the upstairs bedroom loft. There is a pull-out soft on the first floor for guests who wish to sleep on the ground floor. *** While this provides a unique secluded experience right on the beach, the walk to the beach may be challenging for senior citizens or physically impaired individuals, or those with mobility challenges. ***
*** For extended stays of several weeks / months, please message me. I offer customized discounted pricing for extended stays. ***
A live web cam of the beach is available online; search for Indianola Web Cam. (Blue Heron House is on the far beach, on the far right; the lights are visible at night.)

About the host
Hosted by Joe Hueffed

I have lived in the Seattle area and have spent summers in Suquamish my entire life. We recently restored this historic property after it had been abandoned for many years. As a child, our family was friends with the Puget Sound Pilot who owned the cabin and enjoyed it as a summer home. I hope you enjoy your stay at this unique, rare, historical Puget Sound beach cabin.
Why they chose this property
This is one of the few waterfront Puget Sound cabins which is truly on the water. Remotely secluded down a boardwalk from the street. Enjoy listing to the waves just feet from the living room, or sleep under the stars on the deck or lawn covered bulkhead beside the Puget Sound. Just 90 - 120 minutes to from downtown Seattle, the property is easily accessible without enduring airports or excessive traffic from downtown Seattle.
What makes this property unique
The cabin, porch and private lawn are immediately adjacent to Puget Sound! Access via boat, with moorage via anchor or buoy is available. There are no other homes immediately on the beach for several hundred yards both directions, North and South.
The area is popular for kayaks and small boating.
Dungeness and Red Rock Crab are very plentiful here. During Fall months, salmon may be caught by casting right from the beach.
Bald Eagles, Blue Herons and porpoises often cruise along the beach. At night Sea (River) otters frequent the area. Winter months bring a variety of ducks and other migratory birds.
