Loire Valley : only 1hour from Paris, the land of great Chateaux, the 'garden ' of France, and the country of sweet French way of life ...
This property is different it's your chance to experience France at its best! This is a spectacular house set in grounds so beautiful they have been used over the years as a film set (the 2 houses and gardens). This is 'real' France with a chance to live in peaceful tranquil surroundings created with loving care by generations of the owner's family (8). In a 17th century property, the cottage 'Le Pot Vert,' which used to be the vineyard's house, is located in a residential peaceful wooden area in a 10,000 sqm ground with a wood, large yarns, old century trees, pool, kitchen garden, with its separate entrance and parking, from Le Cormier, the main house where live the owners Remi and Frederique.
Pool and the large Gardens are Shared with the Owners : Frédérique and Rémi and their nice 8 y border collie Nestor,
The pool is not heated and in use from May 15 to September 15 .
SUCH A CONTRAST to the usual places that are just Ikéa furnished for letting ...


The beautiful gardens and the pool close to the cottage is enclosed with a fence . The cottage is rented with self-catering breakfasts: homemade jams, coffee, tea, milk, juices and fresh bread and croissants for the 1st day with a first meal in the fridge, a well stocked pantry, and many, many special other attentions & unique extras (as drinks, wines, flowers, candles, books and guides in English, homemade drawing stationery, stamps, CD, DVD)

Most of the villages in the area have markets, and you are never far away from excellent and fancy restaurants .
There are 8 golf courses in and around Orleans , riding stables 5 kms away , canoeing or kayaking on the Loire and boat trips on the Canals ( Orleans and Briare ) Some marvellous walks and rides along the 2 paths by the River Loire ( Unesco World Heritage ) You can also take a gentle balloon flight and see the countryside and chateaux hidden among the forests from the air. Loire Valley wine road , by Cheverny, Chinon, Saumur, Sancerre etc...and Vouvray ( which produce the best sparkling wine outside Champagne )

Perfect week in beautiful cottage

We had the most amazing week in this stunning cottage. Frederique and her family were amazing and very helpful when we though we ran into trouble. Our dog made friends with Nestor and it was pleasure to watch them play in the garden. Lovely woods at the back of the house and town easy accessible by tram so no need to drive. Thank you for everything

Fairy Tale Cottage

This is very much the French Way of Life! -arched doors,windows kissed with grape vines,a charming swimming pool,sunny skies, flower gardens and paths to walk.A delightful dog and cat coming to greet us as we eat outside listening to classical music. We feel we were in a joyous dream a bubble of calm...like a child's fairy tale. We dream of coming back soon,for after traveling some 300 kilometers by bike this cottage was a secret garden for our refuge. Frederique and Remi were our gracious hosts

Welcoming and Comfortable

Very welcoming host who was always available for help or advice if needed, but left us to enjoy the property by ourselves. The kitchen is really well supplied! Several reviews mention this, and it’s true. Also plenty of plates, glasses and cutlery which isn’t always the case. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent facilities. Locally, we probably weren’t very adventurous with restaurants etc, but we did use the excellent nearby tram service into Orléans. It’s affordable and runs every 20 mins. Saved us the hassle of using the car. Nice quiet neighbourhood, lovely pool. A very relaxing holiday.

Wonderful Stay

My wife and I and two friends stayed at "Le Pot Vert" for a week in May and it was everything we could have hoped for . When we arrived Frederique had stocked the shelves and the refrigerator, there was even a bottle of wine waiting for us. It was cool and rainy during our stay and we made good use of the fireplace in the evenings. The cottage is well located for visits to the chateaus and sites of Loire. We also enjoyed relaxing days at the cottage with a walk to one of the bakeries for breakfast in the morning and a visit to the local crepe shop just a 1/4 mile away. If you are looking to experience France and French hospitality this is a great way to do it. Thanks again Frederique and Remy and we hope to see you again. We will never forget how you saved us during the "wine outage" on the unexpected Bank Holiday give Valentine a scratch for us. Mike and Marlys

LE POT VERT

Our stay at Le pot Vert was most enjoyable. It was everything it was represented to be. Arrival was seamless with excellent explanations, supplies and an everything-functioning household. Also, Frederique, the owner, was most responsive with respect to all questions we had as the week progressed even volunteering a mobile GPS system for us to use during our stay. The house is very well stocked with guide books, maps, general reading, dvds, cds and kitchen provisions. Le pot Vert certainly provides plenty of room if you are just two people like we were, however, two bedrooms are not equal if you are a party of four or more. The property on which Le pot Vert sits is beautifully maintained, and the surrounding area is pleasantly residential with very good food shopping close by. Our day trips to the various chateaux in the Loire Valley worked out very well, and Orleans turned out to be a more interesting city than many of the guide books represented.

Wonderful stay in France

Having lived in France years ago and since visited there many times, my dream was to return and rent a quaint cottage in a small village where we could walk to shops, eat in the garden, and fix meals in a tidy kitchen--all of this and more was realized during our stay at Le Pot Vert. The owners, Frederique and Remy were very charming and hospitable, and when we arrived to find a fully stocked pantry and refrigerator, wines, cheeses, and even baguettes and pastries, we were more than delighted! We were blessed with wonderful weather so we could take advantage of walks and bike rides near the Loire, a hot-air balloon ride, visits to several chateaux and wine tastings, and walks to the local Sunday market. We also appreciated Frederique's recommendations for local restaurants which were fun and charming. I do think a month was a long time to be in one place once the weather started turning a bit chilly and rainy, but over all it was a wonderful experience. The description of the cottage is accurate (except the furniture in the living room is now different than the photo, but not a big deal). The owners supplied bikes, a garage for our rental car, and free Wi-Fi and international calling which was so appreciated. I would definitely recommend this property to our friends and family.

Le PotVert Outside Orleans France

Lovely old home owned by family since 1715. Family lives on the property in the larger house. 1800 sqaure foot cottage that has all the comforts of home. Everything works well. Plenty of hot water, good water pressure, washer-dryer, 16 cubic foot size fridge, 4 burner electric stove with oven, toaster, coffee & tea makers, 26" TV, AM/FM radio with CD player, iffy Wi-fi internet signal usually works, it's free. Decor is authentic french wine country and cute, cute, cute. Friendly family dogs and cats will play with you and the kids. Cottage can sleep up to 6 people. Bedrooms upstairs. Narrow wood staircase is NOT handicap accessible. Twin beds are comfy if a bit lumpy & old feeling. Main queen size bed is fine, it's firm! Good quality linens, clean & fresh smelling. Owners are the nicest people, especially warm, friendly, helpful, interesting and humorus. Frederique speaks English much better than husband Dr. Remy. If you are Francophone you will be treated like close family. I plan to stay here again.

A memorable month in the country

We stayed in Le Pot Vert one memorable month, sharing it with three sets of friends at different times. (plenty of room for two couples). Athena, who wrote the recent review here, was one of our housemates. The cottage is lovely, very comfortable and clean -- and blissfully quiet (so nice to hear only birdsong in the morning!). We loved taking the cheap and easy tram into Orleans (a beautiful city) as well as our many day-trips to chateaux and to the wine-making town of Sancerre. Only an hour by train from Paris, we also were able to easily sneak into the capital, but to be honest, it was the cottage that maintained its greatest pull on us all. Returning to it each day was a balm for the soul and we ended up eating most of our evening meals at home after shopping in town (with desserts and fresh bread from one of the best boulangeries in France). Our two dogs had a ball romping in the grounds and one of our favorite things to do was to wander back into the property's woods, aperos in hand, during l'heure bleue each evening. Frederique and Remy were gracious hosts, helping us as needed but always giving us complete privacy. We have rented many properties in France and elsewhere and this was by far the most charming. The best compliment I can give is to say I wish we could have stayed longer and that we want to come back.

Charm and hospitality in a relaxing environment

Charming and full of authentic character, Le Pot Vert captures the experience of a cozy cottage with views of nature set in beautiful, well-tended grounds. Since we visited for a week in February, our family of three spent much time indoors, finding the space very comfortable and accommodating. I especially liked the adorable French country kitchen with its pretty views (still a center of activity for us during the pandemic) and the fireplace that kept us warm. Others have already commented on the generous provisions that Frédérique provides. This is all true but I don’t think it captures the amount of thought and detail she has considered in creating as welcoming a stay as possible. After briefly showing us the house, we were left to relax and feel at home, discovering croissants and other baked goods from her favorite local bakery; a pantry and refrigerator stocked with quality produce and ample ingredients for a few simple meals. This cottage and its furnishing are immaculately maintained and presented. Together with all this, we enjoyed much privacy during our stay, although we knew that Frédérique was available if necessary to answer any questions that would arise. Living in Paris, we stayed for a week of our daughter’s school break, and found the WiFi to be reliable for work. We drove to Orleans a few times and regularly walked and cycled at the nearby forest. We particularly enjoyed DaVinci’s home, Château du Clos Lucé, near Amboise, about an hour away. Thank you, Frédérique, for all your efforts!

Wonderful way to experience French Life!

Frederique and Renee provide a welcome worthy of Kings. Fully stocked cottage with all the comforts. Excellent accommodation in a park like setting that had hundreds of roses in bloom! You will not be disappointed. The perfume museum, La Parc floral, the maritime museum were all less than 30 minutes away and made for excellent day trips with picnics on the grounds. Enjoy!

Perfect cottage

Le Pot Vert is a beautiful, well-kept cottage, and a perfect little getaway from the city. Lots of little quaint little surrounding towns to visit, and only 1.5 hr drive from the Paris centre! This is a place where you will really get to experience the French way of living -- from the house itself, to the chickens roaming the grounds, to the glorious produce you will find at the market, to the Michelin star restaurants to dine at. Frederique was extremely helpful in the preliminary planning process. She would be very responsive, had great suggestions on restaurants and where to visit. You could tell she cherishes her home, and loves to share it with guests. She also took the time to decorate the cottage with Christmas touches, and along with a wood burning fireplace, all of it really made the place feel like home. The grounds itself is stunning in the winter, and I could only imagine how gorgeous the grounds are in the summer in full bloom. Frederique was more than gracious, generous and just overall wonderful. This is a vacation we will always remember!

Lovely cottage

Le Pot Vert is a lovely cottage about 60 miles from Paris, very near to Orleans. Our hosts provided a fridge full of foods, in addition to spirits, wines, coffee, tea, croissants and breads from a local bakery. There is a very nice pool and relaxation area, but we were there in October 2016, so it was too cool to swim. The grounds of their property were very beautiful. Would love to see them in the spring when everything is in bloom! They also had a book with directions for everything in the cottage and suggestions of places to eat and visit. Lots of maps are also available. There are several nice restaurants in the area, but you will need to drive to them. We would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a VRBO outside of Paris.

Homely, spacious, outstanding gardens and pool

As a busy family of five, we were looking for a relaxing holiday in a well-appointed cottage with access to a good pool - we found this and more at Le Pot Vert. The owners are charming and committed to helping you have a great holiday - the layout of the grounds around the cottage provides plenty of space and lovely views over the garden. The pool is long enough for swimming or volleyball and provides a peaceful and private spot for sunbathing. The kitchen has everything you would expect at home and the fridge was generously filled on arrival. Bathrooms are spotless and bed mattresses are firm. Clean linen and plenty of towels are provided. Wifi works fine, so you can stay as connected to the outside world as you wish:) There are some good local options for dog walking, including a riverbank walk in St Jean de Braye and a local parkland area. We would recommend the cottage to friends and would love to return one day. Thanks to Frederique and her family for their patience with our dog and all their support and care during the week. So good, we'll go back!

Great location; close to facilities but with the feel of a country cottage. Well appointed (the photos don't lie) and very welcoming hosts in Frederique and Remi; nothing was too much for them, and the home made apricot jam was delicious! The cottage had enough space for young and old to spread out, whilst the pool, the kitchen table and the outdoor table became the focus of family time - a wonderful cottage and worth booking; we'll certainly be going again!

The most warm, welcoming and lovely cottage

The cottage and grounds were a dream come true. Frederique is a warm and vivacious host and Remy's low keyed charm makes you feel right at home. The animals are a particular delight especially Bess one of the sweetest dogs in the world. The cottage is well stocked with everything you will need and they have paid attention to every detail down to the fresh eggs from their chickens roaming the grounds. We enjoyed going to different towns every day especially Orleans for lunch and sightseeing and returning to the lovely cottage to have a fire and cook a nice dinner in the warm, inviting kitchen. It was a perfect French country setting and close to many wonderful attractions -- my favorite Chateau Chambord which was recommended by Frederique and Paris is close by either train or car. Looking forward to going back soon for another beautiful vacation!

Everything you could need - and more!!

We ended a busy, fun-filled trip to France with a one-week stay at Frederique & Remy's beautiful cottage. At this point in the trip we were looking forward to some R&R and this property certainly did not disappoint! The kids loved the tree house, pool area and HUGE yard - not to mention the friendly pets (and chickens!!). This cottage was equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable - and was perfectly clean. The cottage had so much character too - a truly authentic experience! We did a lot of our own cooking, but when we wanted restaurant recommendations nearby, Frederique was very helpful in recommending (and booking) a fabulous dinner for our last evening. We did a few day trips from this location and found you could reach all the big chateaus (and even Versailles) within 1-1.5 hours and it was easy to get around (with a car). We had high expectations of our stay here and it even surpassed them! We would love to go back and would certainly stay here again!!

A true luxury property

Wonderful property with lovely hosts. Large rooms that had been prepared beautifully of our arrival. Well located near shops and other amenities, whilst in a rural setting with huge grounds. Plenty of lovely walks along the Loire nearby, and easy access to Orleans. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend.
