Renovated Venetian house with heated pool 7 minutes from Rethymno Old Town
Located in the heart of the traditional village Adele, Casa Vindemia will more certainly define your Cretan summer holidays. With a history that goes back all the way to the time of the Venetian occupation of the island, these two, semi-detached maisonettes, have been renovated with love, care and respect for this history: their arrangement just as their decoration, have references to the era of their construction, as preserved in testimonies and in tradition.
House 1: Entering the small house through the front yard, you may find the common areas of the living room and kitchen. A metallic staircase takes you up to the top floor, where the two, ensuite double bedrooms are located.
House 2: Accessible from both the front yard and the side so that it can be operated independently, this bigger house consists of a large kitchen and separate living room on the ground floor, an ensuite bedroom bedroom, a smaller double bedroom and a WC on the top floor. The separate living room can easily accommodate two more visitors.
Both house can communicate via openings to the front yard but can also offer relative privacy.
Outdoor area: The front yard which offers access to both houses, retain its initial layout and typical characteristics: a tall stone-built wall, a main arched entrance, a side entrance with its old wooden door, the original paving and beautiful stone staircase. This space can be used throughout the day, as a sitting or dining area. Enjoy your cold drink or chilled wine in the evening and you will definitely get a taste of the essence of the Cretan atmosphere!
The side yard, originally part of the house as can be seen by the remaining openings on the surrounding walls, has been transformed to a place of relaxation and wellbeing. Enjoy your breakfast, let the Cretan sun warm you inside and outside, cool off in the heated pool, and repeat!

About the host
Hosted by Nikolaos
At Casa Vindemia, we (Nikos and Virginia Spanaki) have poured our hearts into creating a space that feels like stepping into a piece of Cretes cherished history. As siblings born and raised on this beautiful island, we have always felt a deep-rooted connection to its stories and traditions. Driven by a shared passion for the remarkable Venetian-era architecture scattered across Crete, we ventured into short-term hospitality with a unique vision: to protect and share these historic treasures in a way that feels like home. Our journey began with a simple yet ambitious idea--to breathe life back into Cretes architectural gems from the Venetian period, properties that might otherwise fade quietly into the landscape. The Venetian influence, with its arches, carved stone, and natural materials, is woven into the soul of Crete, blending history with the beauty of the Mediterranean. With each property, we feel a responsibility to preserve its essence, to let each wall, beam, and stone continue to tell its story to those who come and stay.
