About this property
Villa Laretta - Three Bedroom Villa, Sleeps 6
Forget the sense of time in this wonderful countryside retreat nestled in northwest Italy’s Piedmont region, equipped to the highest standards to ensure guests have the best time in a home away from home.
Villa Laretta is a superbly modern 2-storey villa sleeping up to 6 guests in 3 elegantly furnished bedrooms, conveniently placed on the upper floor for your comfort and privacy.
The villa’s discreet luxury style from inside and out allows for the perfect holiday, encouraging guests to succumb to total relaxation. Constructed with sun-bleached stone and complemented by a plush velvet sofa, the living room offers a stunning garden view through the floor-to-ceiling windows facing the pool and its terrace, and it’s equally inviting during the day as it is in the evening when the iridescent light illuminates the pool and stars appear on the night sky. Next to the living area, guests can find a spacious dining room and kitchen with vaulted terracotta ceilings and a dining table to enjoy glorious meals together. On this level, you can also find a private spa equipped with a hot tub, a Finish sauna and Turkish baths, ideal for romantic evenings or pampering rituals before dinner. The three bedrooms are all located upstairs to allow guests extra privacy and are designed with stylish materials in a pleasant harmony of warm colours, creating the right atmosphere for a well-deserved rest.
The garden allows for solitude and a symphony of sounds; wind rustles through the trees, water ripples through the pool, and birds sing from the nearby trees. On a hot day, the only way to cool down is to jump into the pool and take in the views of the surrounding countryside as you float on the water. Those wanting to read a book or work on their holiday tan have the entire terrace.
Around the villa, you can discover sleepy hilltop villages and rustic backcountry full of vineyards, dipping hills and plains designed for sunset strolls and visits to local wineries. Not only a paradise for nature lovers, the Piedmont region is also world-renowned for its delectable gastronomy, with regional specialities such as truffle, cheeses and various types of pasta being the main hits.
A wholesome stroll through the rich landscapes will take you to Monetu Roero, a small village with amenities such as restaurants and bars and scenic hiking areas with ancient ruins, bridges and vantage points.
Other towns just a stone’s throw away include Alba, Bra and Motta, all unique with food places, wine bars, bakeries and cute historical centres and palazzos to admire (and photograph).
If you’re looking for more hustle and bustle, visit Turin, once Italy’s capital city. With its grand boulevards, ambient cafés, ancient ruins and world-class museums, it’s a fantastic option for a day trip, ensuring everyone will find their own niche.

Location:
This lesser-known part of northwest Italy’s Piedmont region makes for a harmonious location to enjoy a relaxing escape from the crowds. The villa is set amongst the vineyards and rolling hills, with only a handful of other properties and establishments scattered around, yet it’s a short drive to many nearby villages.
As you venture outside, you’ll be able to find many walking trails, country roads, and hiking areas such as the Il bosco fatato. On this trail, you can admire the pretty scenery, iron and wooden statues, or picnic in the clearing at the end.
In just 30 minutes of walking, you’ll reach Monteu Roero, a local village with small grocery shops, bakeries and restaurants, and a castle, Castello di Monteu Roero, nearby. Visiting is recommended, and there is a high point from where to soak up the views.
When you get hungry, it’s good to know that the closest trattoria serving traditional Italian cuisine is just a 5-minute drive away and a few local bars. The supermarket is just a 10-minute drive away when you wish to stock up on groceries.
Alba, Bra and Motta are just a 30-minute drive away, meaning you’re never short on day trip ideas. Notably, Bra is home to a biennial international cheese festival, and it is one of the most important centres of Piedmontese Baroque architecture, with an abundance of fascinating architectural sights to see – such as the St. Andrew’s Church and the Church of Santa Chiara, as well as the Town Hall, the Palazzo Garrone, and Palazzo Mathis.
In Alba, you’ll find family-owned as well as some Michelin-starred establishments. The city also belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Vineyard Landscape of Piedmont and is beautiful to explore on foot.
Those with days to spare shouldn’t miss Asti. After a wholesome walk around its paved streets lined with churches and buildings such as the 15th-century palace Palazzo Mazzetti - Pinacoteca Civica, end your day with an affogato in one of its gorgeous squares and indulge in uninterrupted people-watching.
There’s also charm to be found in Turin, although the city might seem slightly gritty at first sight. Less than 1-hour drive away, it’s bursting at its seams with royal palazzi, avant-garde galleries, top-notch restaurants and miles upon miles of baroque architectural masterpieces, offering an authentic dose of Italy for those who look for it.
