No communication with the host. I had asked on August 31st if my friend and I could have an early check-in for when we would arrive on September 8th. Followed up multiple times via the Vrbo app, text, and tried to call with no response. On September 8th at 2 PM, we received what we thought was a text directly from the host with the information to get into the property, but then realized it was probably an automated message that was scheduled to send out an hour before each guest arrives, in which case our arrival time was 3 PM, as stated on the reservations. We got in at 2:45, but only because we thought the host sending the message with entry details was their way of saying it was safe to go in. We got into the property, and it was filthy. At this point, it was 15 minutes before our reservation was truly going to be open, and no trace of a cleaning team even coming. Finally, the host got back to us after we came to him with our concerns, and they said, "Well, check-in is supposed to be AFTER 3 PM." Nowhere on the booking did it state AFTER 3 PM. It said 3 PM. They got a cleaning team there by 3:30 PM. I began to wonder at what point the cleaning team was supposed to come? Poor service, poor communication, the host refuses to give us at least half of a refund back to cover the cleaning fee we paid for. Don't book, save your money.
