About this property
Totally Renovated Waterfront Cottage, Snowbird's Paradise, Boater's Dream
Welcome to Port Royal Landing! We're so glad you've decided to explore the Low Country and stay with us. Beaufort/Port Royal has so much to offer. Our completely renovated cottage is the perfect spot for you to come to relax and explore everything the Low Country has waiting for you. In the mornings, watch for the most amazing sunrises over the water as the sun peeks over the horizon directly outside the back of the house. In the evenings, sit back on the deck or sun porch and enjoy the breeze. Watch the vast marsh life at all times of day right from the back deck - various birds, including ibis, herons, egrets and pelicans; dolphins hunting and swimming; and even the occasional alligator slowly gliding through the marsh grass. Turn your cell phone off and let all the stresses of your day to day just melt away. The house is comfortably suited with enough room for 3 couples or a family. Enjoy spacious and open rooms that are well appointed with everything to make your stay enjoyable. We've fully stocked the house, complete with a well-stocked kitchen where even the family chef will feel right at home. Extended rental and snowbird special 25% off.
Port Royal Landing is a wonderful little neighborhood filled with wonderful people. You may just come back year after year to see your new friends. A marina, shop and newly renovated restaurant and bar (Fall 2019) are just a few steps away. Bring your boat to Port Royal Landing marina where weekly/monthly slips are available at a very reasonable price and you'll never have to step into your car the whole time you're here. This really is a fisherman's and sailor's paradise. By water, downtown Beaufort and the city dock is only a few minutes north and downtown Port Royal is a few minutes south. Hilton Head is just beyond with Charleston and Savannah all an easy days’ sail.
If you'd rather spend the day lounging on a secluded beach or walking the sand looking for shells and driftwood, Hunting Island Park is just a short drive away. The hiking here is like no other as you wander through the many trails that feel like you are in a tropical, prehistoric fairyland. We've provided a year round pass for your use which gives access to the park free of charge (one carload). Downtown Beaufort and Port Royal have everything you could want if you do decide to venture off the water. Find phenomenal food, drinks, shopping, and lazy park swings at the waterfront. The surrounding area is kid-friendly with a number of parks just a few minutes’ drive. Entrances to the Spanish Moss Trail are only a few minutes from the house as well. And not to be missed is the Port Royal Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings (9am-12noon) where you can find a fantastic assortment of fresh, seasonal produce along with local coffee, sweet tea, baked goods, fresh pasta and so much more!
The entire Beaufort/Port Royal area is rich in history having been influenced first by the Spaniards, then the French and finally the English. There also is no other comparable place to see the unique Gullah culture, both in craft and food (www.bonappetit.com/story/bj-dennis-gullah-geechee). Visit www.beaufortsc.org/guides/history for more information. Historic Bluffton is also a great quick trip with history, shopping and great food.
If you're visiting for a military graduation, welcome and congratulations! The gate for Parris Island is a short 8 minute drive from the house. The patriotism of the area is apparent and nothing gets our attention more than the sound and rush as fighter jets thunder overhead on a regular basis. We're a military family and are grateful for you and your loved one's service. Ask about a military discount.
Pilots can fly into Frogmore International (KARW) just across the water. Ask and we'll be happy to help make arrangements for a car and tiedown service at the FBO.
Sorry no smoking. No motorcycles, trailers, or boats in the driveway due to neighborhood covenants. We're happy to help arrange parking in the marina parking lot.

About the host
Hosted by Joshua and Stephanie

We honeymooned in Beaufort years ago and fell in love with the history and pace of life, away from the crowds of Charleston and Savannah. We've returned for much of our free time, and now spend family time here with our 3 children. We're so happy to share our home with you.
