About this property

Villa Smith, the beauty and tradition of Vernazza

Villa Smith embodies the history of Vernazza. The first \"outsiders\" to buy a house in the pearl of the Cinque Terre were the Smith family who today give us a gift by making this masterpiece wrapped in nature available to guests. A house where you can breathe Ligurian history and tradition. Green spaces and two terraces from which to see the sea will make your stay unique and unforgettable.

Villa Smith and its private bridge will bring your mind to peace and relaxation.

The house has the typical Ligurian structure: a small gate on the street will allow you to pass over the private deck of the house and find yourself in the beautiful garden where you can listen to the flowing water and breathe in the scent of citrus fruits.

To access the house you will have to climb two flights of stairs and you will find yourself in the fully equipped kitchen from which you can access the terrace or go to the room which also has two single beds that can be used as a sofa. Going down the stairs you will find the double bedroom and the bathroom with shower / tub.

You can not help but fall in love with the two terraces from which between the vine you can see the town of Vernazza and the view of the sea between two promontories. A sight never seen.

A lovely stand alone house with charm and character in a stunning location. Just a short walk up the hill from Vernazza offering a peaceful refuge from the day crowds but great for making the most of Vernazza in the evenings. Ideal location for exploring the rest of Cinque Terre either by train or trails.Excellent, responsive communication throughout our stay.

Beautiful villa in vernazza. The villa was well equipped, very pretty, and had a beautiful terrace. There was no air conditioning but the villa stayed relatively cool throughout our stay in July (although perhaps a fan would have been good!). Vernazza is a lovely base for exploring the cinque terre. The villa is around a 10 minute walk into the town up a moderate hill, but worth it for the peaceful surroundings and views. Would strongly recommend to anyone staying in vernazza and would stay again if we were to return 😊

This place is a gem! Not sure what we loved most: the babbling brook outside the home, the nooks and crannies, the multiple layers of patio, the lemon and orange trees, or the cozy interior. Be sure to let your parking attendants know that you are staying in Villa Smith, so they can drop you off instead of taking you all the way into Vernazza. Convenient to town, restaurants, shopping and the hiking trails that make Cinque Terra so special!

The hosting company’s website had been hacked, so I kept receiving fraudulent emails and texts from the rental agency telling me I needed to pay for the accommodations even though I rented it through VRBO. The messages constantly threatened that my reservation will be canceled if I didn’t pay. I contacted someone at the agency and also forwarded some of the messages to them. They apologized, said they were dealing with it, and told me not to respond to any of these messages. Meanwhile, I continued to get messages up until the day before checking in telling me that I had to pay for my reservation or it would be canceled. When I contacted the rental agency, they said some of those messages had come from them. There was no way to differentiate between the real messages and the fraudulent messages, but they offered little apology for what had transpired and said it wasn’t their fault. I had to call VRBO, who informed me that their request for payment was legitimate because they were a third-party taking care of the rental. I had never heard of that in my past experiences working with VRBO – I always thought the company was paid through VRBO. Not in this case. At one point, I received three texts within one hour all claiming to be from the rental agency and all originating from different countries. while I enjoyed the accommodations, they are a bit rustic, and the front steps are treacherous. No A/C, no extra set of keys as promised, little familiarity with the property.
