About this property
Tan-yr-Onnen, New Quay
A delightful detached cottage with private hot tub just a 10 minute drive from New Quay on Cardigan Bay, Tan-yr-Onnen is a secluded stone-built lodge nestling ‘under the ash trees’. With grazing available you can bring your horse on holiday, too!
The hot tub is set in a wooden summer house in the garden. With glazed walls all round, this is a wonderful place to relax, enjoying the outstanding views of the unspoilt surrounding countryside. Step out onto the furnished patio to enjoy a little sunbathing or a refreshing ice cold drink.
The seaside village of New Quay is the dolphin-spotting hot spot of Cardigan Bay: the resident Bottlenose Dolphins can often be seen from the harbour wall and from the boat trips that take you along the coast in the summer.
New Quay has three sandy beaches, a picturesque harbour and numerous cafes, restaurants and pubs, making it an ideal resort for a family holiday. With watersports such as kayaking, windsurfing, sailing, diving and surfing available, there is plenty to do.
Perfect for walkers, Tan-yr-onnen has easy access to the network of footpaths in this area. Follow the Soden valley through Nanternis and down to the sea to join the Wales Coast Path. Walking the Ceredigion section of the Wales Coast Path takes you to the nearby beaches at Cwm Tydu and Llangrannog to the south and to the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron to the north.
Less than a mile away, Cross Inn has a pub and village shop. The cottage owners live up the road from the property and are happy to offer help or advice on the local area if needed.
