Region: A E Housman once wrote that Shropshire was “the quietest place under the sun” and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
Town: Ironbridge Gorge is known throughout the world as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. Today the area is far from industrial and nature has reclaimed most of the former industrial sites, leaving a unique and beautiful wooded valley. The gorge is a now a maze of footpaths, bridleways and country lanes whilst the delightful village is famous for being home of the world's first iron-built bridge, built between 1777-79. The village has a splendid variety of pubs, restaurants, shops and tea rooms and a collection of ten industrial and Victorian themed museums makes up the Ironbridge Museums Trust, including the exciting Blists Hill Victorian Village. Within driving distance are the popular historical towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Ludlow, as well as the Wroxeter Roman City, the Severn valley Railway, the RAF Cosford Museum and many National Trust properties. Ironbridge is a wonderful base from which to explore the beautiful county of Shropshire.

The property was in a filfthy condition. The window in the lounge was ajar because it was broken and the wood was rotten and when we tried to open it to let in some air the glass shattered and left us with the bottom half of the pane broken away. We contacted the owner who said he knew about it but was not doing anything to it until September. Nobody came round to look at it or mend it and we had to stay there feeling very vulnerable at night snd having to take any valuables with us when we went out during the day. The floors and skirting board's were dirty and dusty. There was cobwebs on utensils in the drawer and bits of cereal in there as well. Window ledges were dirty too. There were lors of steps to the property which you couldn't see from the picture advertising it. We would like to know when it was last cleaned and how it could be allowed to be let knowing that the window was broken. We would not go back again and highly recommend it is removed from the letting site.
