About this property
The Lodge at Duchray Castle. Perfect for family with 3 small children.
2.5 miles from Aberfoyle this quiet, cosy cottage is the old gate house to Duchray Castle. With beautiful grounds including children’s swing and tree house it has 2 bedrooms. A double and a family room with 3 single beds and a shared bathroom. The cottage has a cosy sitting/dining room with a log burning stove and we supply as many logs as you like!
Guests can wander in the gardens and woods of Duchray Estate, help themselves to fresh eggs, pet the highland cows and goat, walk the beautiful banks of Duchray Water or sit by the lake. There are lots of woodland paths and, for those looking for more activity, we have a games room, for all our guests to share, with table tennis, darts and other pub type games, or maybe try a bit of wild swimming. There are also 100s of miles of gravel tracks right from the front door for walking or the popular ‘Gravelfoyle’ gravel biking.
On the quiet side we have no passing traffic, only our guests and services enter the properties no through road and we have proper dark skies for those interested in star gazing. The quiet surrounding Duchray allows guests to truly unwind and listen to nature.
The village of Aberfoyle is just 2.5 miles away, with well stocked Coop and deli butcher, pub, several shops and eateries, also 18 hole golf course and a Go Ape.
Under 1 hour away are Stirling, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Doune Castle, Blair Drummond Safari Park, and much, much more.
Many of our guests return each year. We welcome you and your family to join them!
