Welcome to Captain Hook - Private desert oasis with Pirate charm !

Come spend a romantic weekend in our desert hideaway! Perfect for the honeymooners or couples desiring a quiet, peaceful getaway. This 3 acre property compound is fully enclosed for privacy. Only minutes from town ,local restaurants and shopping.

The Space
The custom straw bale home has many unique features with a full wrap around porch for you to sit and enjoy the beautiful desert sunsets. The home contains many charming vintage and antique articles. The master bath has antique bath tub with brass feet for your soaking pleasure. Enjoy the full size kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave and all cooking utensils.
Spacious master with king size bed, large screen TV and patio access with pool right outside the door. Walk in full tile shower with dual shower heads
Step outside to the patio with large firepit and 6 person Catalina hot tub. Spend your evenings with beautiful Arizona sunsets and mountain views next to the 40' pool with waterfall and built in BBQ grill.

We offer free Wi-Fi along with large screen TV with streaming apps for your down time viewing pleasure.

Outdoor amenities
As a guest you will have full access to 40-foot pirate themed pool and BBQ area with gas grill and outdoor seating. Walking /hiking trails to Girl Scout Mountain are within minutes of the property.
Parking is free and right outside your door. RV parking can be accommodated.

Not what is was advertised

We stayed at this place for 17 days. There is a reason for a one star review as that is the lowest I could rate this place and owner. We had nothing but problems from day 1. When we walked around the property with George (the owner) we asked about the hot tub and pool next to the bedroom door. George advised that because of Covid that no one else can use the pool and hot tub but the people that rent this individual home. That sounded right especially with Covid but 3 days into our stay here comes the neighbors into the hot tub. When this was brought up to the owner he back stepped and said no when I said private I meant just my guests can use it. So with Covid and 2 feet from our bedroom window/door there are strangers sharing the hot tub. We used the toilet the very first day and it overflowed all over the warped bathroom floor which would lead anyone to believe it has happened quite a few times before. We had non stop issues with the Wi-Fi. We would go from not having any at all to it being so weak we could not stay connected. George decided to paint the outside of the houses while they are rented. So we dealt with the inconvenience and smell of paint while we are renting he is having the place painted. George also had a leak in his propane line so he had the propane shut off. So every time we wanted to cook he turned the propane on which was extremely dangerous if there was a leak in the line. The propane grill outside was out of propane and covered in spider webs. The place was dirty with spider webs all over the pirate mannequins in the house. The living room was dark and dingy. The only TV in the house was in the bedroom above the bed. On the add for this place it says it sleeps 4 there is only one bed and a couch that is not a bed. We were going to have our kids come and stay for a couple of days and were unable as there was no place for them to sleep. This was a bad experience and for the money spent not worth it at all. This owner promises things he doesn’t provide.

The problem from day 1 was the occupants. The wife had no idea what the husband rented so before she went in the door she wasn’t happy. She said “it’s only one bedroom)? Yes it’s advertised as 1 bedroom but it will sleep 4 as we bring in another bed. They rented it for 2 people ONLY but was hoping to bring in 2 more without paying the additional fee. The toilet has NEVER overflowed. This was due to too much paper or ? Going into toilet. The warped floors as she calls them are distressed Alder wood are is designed to be that way. See pics. The Wi-Fi goes in and out sometimes due to weather and we’re in the country. These people are not honest… I told them we were going to paint the Outside of there unit but I wanted to do it when they were gone for a full day. They told me what day that would be and when they were gone professionals painted it. Latex paint NO SMELL when dried. This unit was done before they came back. There was NO inconvenience to them! This home has a brand new charcoal grill and a brand new propane grill. The grill she is talking about is for looks only. Total lie about the TVs 1 in the living room and 1 in bedroom. Her husband sat in the living room and watched live football that I paid $125 out of my pocket to make him happy because he couldn’t read when renting that we have Hulu, Netflix, Disney Plus and ESPN. Never even a thank you! I think the $125 sports channels proves I provide more then they say. These people were trouble the minute they drove up. Iam ex law enforcement and I read people very well. If your a host and want to know more…contact me. I’ve been doing this for 5 years and my reviews speak the truth unlike them. These 2 are less then 1 star. This is a million dollar property and my pictures and reviews stand for themselves. Please read my reviews before them and after them. Now you have the truth.

Fun times!

We had such a nice time at this house. It isn’t fancy but rather comfortable. The bed and living room furniture are very cozy. The shower has a great rain head. We sat in the hot tub at night and watched the stars. My husband rode his mountain bike and ran into the mountains from the house. Great location for him. For me, even though we were pretty much in the country it was a short trip into town. Sitting on the front patio you can watch the mountains. There are a couple other rentals on the property and The owner lives there. We enjoyed the company! George communicated well with us whenever we had a question.
