La Casita de Tucson is a unique private getaway for 2-4 adults. Our guesthouse stay includes a hot tub & counter-current pool and a large deck for picnics and sunbathing. Great view of the Catalina Mts from the pool area.
Our casita is large (1200 sq. ft.). While it has one bedroom / one bath, we also have a comfortable queen-size Aerobed for an additional 2 people.
Located in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains, our guests feel the spaciousness and serenity of the Sonoran Desert and enjoy the beauty of our surrounding mountains and star-filled nights. But we are only 15 minutes from downtown and 25 minutes or less to the University of Arizona and several golf courses, including Quarry Pines & Starr Pass. Silverbell, a well-maintained muni, is only 10 minutes away. Good restaurants are about 15 minutes down the road.
The furnishings and decor are definitely Southwestern comfortable. The main room has a high-end home theater with 56' HDTV, Blue Ray DVD player, and built-in surround sound. Here you will find an extensive library of CD's and DVD's. WiFi, of course.
There is also a large bookshelf of Travel, History, and Brain Candy books to suit almost everyone.
The bathroom has a beautifully tiled walk-in shower. A shower bench seat is available. Fresh linens & towels provided.
La Casita has its own backyard, patio, and BBQ. Our guests enjoy interesting grounds, including cactus gardens, a mission fountain, and three patios with many strange and fascinating plants. Laundry can easily be arranged. The washer/dryer are in the main residence. Just ask. Don't be shy.
La Casita is perfect for those who want to visit Southern Arizona's many attractions, such as Bisbee, Tombstone, Titan Missile Site, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Air and Space Museum and our excellent history museums that illustrate the area's rich Native American, Spanish, Mexican and Anglo heritage. Several fine Indian Casinos and many hiking trails are nearby.
The website that Jim wrote is Southern Arizona Guide. Here you will find our recommendations for best dining, things to see & do; plus lots of local history, original videos and photo features.
We have a senior dog, Dozer. He only has 3 legs, but don't tell him. He doesn't know.
Currently we are fostering 2 more well behaved dogs. They will not bother you if you are not dog people.
