As you enter through the front hallway, you will find the sitting room with its stone inglenook fireplace and feature electric 'wood burner effect' fire, including comfortable sofas on which to unwind and watch television or read. Next to the sitting area is your own bar, the perfect spot for mixing a cocktail or two and guests can sit and enjoy their drink on the bar stools, or venture outside to the sheltered patio for a barbecue, or to relax in the garden above. The dining room with its beamed ceiling, is a beautiful room in which to gather together for special meals and celebrations, not forgetting the kitchen which is a cook's delight with all the space, storage and equipment you could wish for and a great spot for your morning coffee too.
On the first floor of your holiday home you will find the three attractive bedrooms; a spacious super-king size with en-suite shower room, a second super king-size bedroom which can also be configured as two single beds upon request, and finally a king-size bedroom. Each bedroom enjoys characterful features, wonderful rural views and thoughtful styling which all combine to ensure a peaceful night's rest. A well-appointed bathroom with bath, overhead shower and vanity unit with twin wash basins can be found next to the ground floor hallway.
Just a stroll away along the country lane, or via the footpath in front of the cottage, you will find fabulous Forde Abbey, a popular destination for families, garden lovers and historians alike, with thirty acres of award-winning gardens and the highest powered water fountain in the country.
Ideally situated in West Dorset, but close to the border of Somerset and Devon, the choice for days out and adventures is endless. There are numerous quaint villages and small towns within easy reach including Beaminster, Thorncombe, Broadwindsor, Axminster and Chard, Just a pleasant drive away is the Jurassic Coast. Popular local destinations include Lyme Regis and Charmouth with their beaches, coastal walks and opportunities for fossil hunting, not forgetting Seaton with its tramway, Beer and Sidmouth are all just a pleasant drive away, making Shedrick Cottage your ideal holiday base.
