Family Hiking

Our family loved this cabin!! It was absolutely immaculate as far as cleanliness. We made sure to tell the cleaning lady as we were packing up. The cabin itself was just what we needed. Close to trails and town, plenty of kitchen supplies for cooking breakfast, enough space to not feel cramped with all of us. There’s not a thing I would change!! The kids also loved the wild turkeys that would frequent the yard.

Trip to Pictured Rock

Very nice place. Would highly recommend this place if you want to hike around Pictured Rock. It is ideally located.

Catchin Crickets Cabin

We had a great 2 night stay at this cabin. Very clean and great location close to all the hiking trails we had planned to visit. Outside grill was nice for coming back after a long hike and being able to cook dinner. Enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and having access to buy wood right next door at the campground was convenient. Overall a great vacation spot.

Rustic Hidaway at Picture Rocks

We so enjoyed our stay at the Counting Crickets Cabin! It is updated, cozily decorated, very well equipped and oh so CLEAN!! Add in the closeness to many area attractions yet very private, an open area amidst wild flowers to star gaze at night, and you have a WONDERFUL place for 3 generations of family to enjoy each other! My husband and I both grew up in the U.P. We wanted to provide a top-notch vacation rental for others to enjoy all of the beauty that surrounds us. In 2016 we began construction of our dream. We put the finishing touches on it in May of 2017 and began renting it out in June of 2017.

Why they chose this property

Catchin' Crickets Vacation Rental is the perfect location to enjoy all the Pictured Rocks area has to offer. It's not located right in town, but close enough to the wonderful sights, you don't have to spend a ton of time driving. There is a restaurant and bar conveniently located 1 mile north. There is also a small grocery store, for basic grocery needs, and restaurant & gas 4 miles south.

What makes this property unique

There were no shortcuts taken when building this beautiful vacation home. We wanted to provide a comfortable place for people to enjoy, in style. Whether it was the handcrafted railing, or the local artwork, details were very important. You will find several different types of tongue & groove on the walls: cedar, ash, & pine. All of the natural light makes the vacation rental bright and inviting. Guests will be impressed with the "stone wall" and fireplace in the living room. Adequate seating was a high priority. Our vacation rental can accommodate 10 guests. You will find a large dining room table with seating for 10 available.
