Common Concerns: *Road Conditions: Some of our cabins are on steep, narrow, curvy mountain roads. If you are concerned about road conditions to get to a cabin, please feel free to ask us! None of our cabins requires a 4-wheel drive under normal weather conditions, but some do in inclement weather. *TV & WiFi: We do have TVs and WiFi in most of our cabins. There are times when heavy cloud cover, weather systems, mountains, or trees will cause problems with the signals. We always want our guests to have the comforts they want on vacation, but there are times we cannot control this problem. *Pests & Wildlife: Here in the Smoky Mountains, we have lots of native bugs and wildlife. All of our cabins are treated for pests, but there are times you will find bugs or even have trouble with bugs. Fall/Winter is ladybug season in the Smokies, and these little buggers are attracted to heat, meaning your cabin and every other one out there that is warm! They will swarm to the cabin, and you'll probably see them alive/dead on windowsills, in vents, etc. Rest assured that your cabin has regular pest control and is professionally cleaned, including bug removal, before and after your stay. However, these bugs come back right away, and unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about them until the season passes. Please never feed, taunt, or approach any wildlife. This is their home, and we are the visitors. *There are no refunds for storms or power outages. If there is a power outage, there will be no water and potentially no heat. Storms can also make roads impassable, so if a storm is in the forecast during your reservation, come prepared with water and non-perishable food, etc.
FEES: The management company of this cabin charges a $20 per stay Damage Waiver Fee to every customer. It is automatically included in your rate. This covers our guests for up to $350 worth of accidental damage should damage occur during their stay. If damage occurs to the cabin, furnishings, etc, please report it to management as soon as possible so that the damage can be repaired. You may opt out of paying the $20 damage waiver fee by putting down a $350 REFUNDABLE damage deposit.
✨ Peace of Mind & Travel Insurance: I want your stay to be stress-free and enjoyable. Please note that this home has a strict cancellation policy. Because life can be unpredictable, we encourage all guests to purchase travel insurance for extra peace of mind. This way, you can book with confidence knowing you’re protected no matter what comes up. This can be done at www.insuremytrip.com where you can pick the coverage that suits your situation.

Thank you for the 8/10 review! We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful cabin and its scenic setting.
That large dining table in the kitchen is one of our favorite features for groups, and we are thrilled that everyone was able to sit around it together and enjoy some great meals and company. Thank you for staying with us, and we hope to welcome you all back again in the future!
The views were amazing. The outdoor living was our favorite part. We would definitely love to come back soon.

Thank you, Lisa, for your wonderful review! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and that the amazing mountain views and outdoor living spaces were highlights of your trip.
There's nothing quite like relaxing outdoors and taking in the beauty of the Smokies, and we're thrilled that it became your favorite part of the experience. Thank you for choosing to stay with us, and we would love to welcome you back for another mountain getaway soon!
We look forward to hosting you again.
The hot tub was so well heated and the view was amazing. The area behind the cabin overlooking the smokey mountains was very large for the kids to run and play. The fire pit was also a huge highlight. Kitchen was small and the walk through rooms were annoying but everyone still enjoyed the closeness of being together as a large family with many grand kids.

Hi Suzie,
Thank you for the 10/10 review! We are so happy to hear that your family enjoyed the heated hot tub, the fire pit, and that the kids had plenty of room to run and play with those gorgeous mountain views in the background. It sounds like a wonderful memory-making trip for the grandkids!
We appreciate your honest feedback regarding the layout. We do try to note the walk-through bedroom setup in our property description so that our large groups can prepare their sleeping arrangements ahead of time, but we’re glad to hear that the "closeness" actually added to the fun of being together as a family!
It was a pleasure hosting your group, and we hope to see you all back in the mountains again soon.
Cabin is nice and secluded and had everthing we needed for a quick get away. Hot tub was great and open kitchen and living space made it easy to visit. Views were fantastic. Beds are onthe hard side but overall great space for family visit.

It sounds like the perfect spot to make holiday memories! 🎄✨ We’re glad you enjoyed the beautiful setting, the stunning views, and the hot tub—it's always a favorite for guests!
It’s wonderful to know that the home met your expectations and that everyone had a great time. We'd love to welcome your family back for more celebrations in the future. Thank you for choosing our cabin for such a special occasion!
Before you book, the bedrooms are connected, meaning to get to one bedroom, you have to pass through another bedroom. This was unfortunate as I booked this place specifically so my guests could have privacy, which was not something this place had. Moreover, the “pull-out” queen bed upstairs is not a bed, it is a couch. The property owners did not provide extra sheets, at least not any we could find, so my guest had to use the provided throw pillow to sleep on the couch. Again, not ideal because I booked this place under the impression it had enough beds for everyone. The doors are very old and would not stay shut, the upstairs king bed needs a rock to stay shut. Also be warned, the road to get there is steep and gravel! Besides that, it has a beautiful view and the hot tub was wonderful. The living and dining space had plenty of room for 14 people.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad your group enjoyed the beautiful views, the spacious living area, and the hot tub.
We strive for full transparency in our listings to help guests plan their stay. We do specify in our property description that two of the bedrooms are "walk-through" rooms, and we provide photos of the futon couches so guests can see the exact setup before booking.
Regarding the bedding, we provide linen bags on the shelves directly above the sofa sleepers which contain the pillows, blankets, and sheets for each of those beds. We are sorry if these were overlooked, as we would have been happy to point them out had we been contacted.
We appreciate you bringing the upstairs door latch to our attention; our maintenance team is addressing that repair immediately. As for the road, we do try to remind guests that mountain views often come with steep, gravel access!
We are glad that despite these layout preferences, your group was able to enjoy your time together in the Smokies.
Very spacious for larges groups, BEAUTIFUL views! 2nd trip here and will definitely be back! It's always clean upon arrival. Iv never had any issues when staying.
We had a good experience. Had a issue with heater and they corrected it within an hour. Location was great. Close to town but not too close. Would highly recommend!

Bathrooms need to be cleaned better. The price is consistent for a fairly old but preserved structure. The bathrooms could be restored to improve the conditions of the house. the dryer has a strange smell. In general all good. The excellent kitchen. The bbq area is perfect.

Cleanliness could do a little better- especially with wood flooring. Ramp goin into cabin was great but I’m 5’2 and small level of mobility issues and beds were so high I had hard time gettin in and out. Other than that it was great!!!
The view is beautiful. We had 13 guests and it was the perfect number for the cabin. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking for the number of people we had. The cabin was clean other than a blanket left upstairs on a chair with some obvious stains of unknown origin. We just left that sit. We had a couple plumbing issues which were dealt with in a timely manner. Communication with the property manager was good. The drive up to the cabin was a little steep and one way although everyone we met were seasoned drivers and backed down. We got to see one bear which was the highlight. Townsend is a very nice town with some cute little shops and friendly people. The only change I would make is some new mattresses.

Yes we did have a problem with the cleaning of this cabin. Guests did arrive to a dirty cabin. As soon as we figured it out, we moved them to a clean cabin that was a more expensive cabin for which they were very thankful. They gave the other cabin a 5 star review and told us how thankful they were to be able to stay at Stairway to Heaven.
This cabin normally gets high reviews and we apologized for the mix-up.
This cabin has an amazing view that can’t be beat and perfectly held 20 family members ranging in ages 4-60. TVs are in every room and the kitchen has basic cooking supplies. All but one bedroom is linked for access so no real privacy but you expect that with 20 family members in one house. The view can not be beat from the patio area. We even had a bear visit and circle the house 2 out of the 3 days we were there. The only negative I would note is that there is no barrier of any kind down the slope so if you have children watch them closely because if you slip off of the patio there’s no climbing down for a rescue. I would rent this location again just not with the children.
We enjoyed the accommodations at the lodge. I love the location. Some of the pots has caked on food but we needed the bigger pots for a bigger group so we washed it and used it. Not impressed with the quality or usefulness of cook wear...if you have a larger group (we had 12) be prepared to bring griddle, bigger sheet pans, things like that. Also, be aware that the 4 of the 5 bedrooms are adjoining and you will have to go through bedrooms to get to other rooms. The front ramp was slick in the rain and we had someone slip...they were fine but there's no hand rail or grips on the ramp. The space was great, the location incredible, and the view was fantastic. For how reasonable the price was l would return.
This property was lovely; the scenery is incredible. The layout of the house is wonderful. The only downside was that we could hear EVERYTHING that was happening upstairs while we were trying to sleep downstairs.
Older model cabin but loved it. Felt relaxing other then cramped hotels. Needs a little tlc as the rockers are falling apart and drains are slow but still love the quiet. The drive up the road is scary the first time but get use to it. Steep one veh wide drive up and down. The disappointment is we didn't see a bear.
