About this property
Villa Fjellheim - at the foot of the Jostedal glacier
Villa Fjellheim is located in Jostedal, in the home of the glaciers. Our guests prace it for the fantastic location in a very cosy and beautiful villa. With views of and walking distance to the Nigardsbreen glacier, it’s the perfect starting point for outdoor adventures. Jostedal offers glaciers, mountains, and year-round adventures.
Here you can go glacier hiking, explore the mountains, go rafting, paddle on the glacier lake, or take a trip to Urnes Stave Church, Feigum waterfall, visit Solvorn, swim in the mountain river, or simply enjoy the tranquility.
The space
Welcome to Villa Fjellheim, a newly renovated villa from the 1950s with unique charm and plenty of space! Perfect for families, hiking groups, and companies looking for a unique retreat in spectacular surroundings.
Our guests love to gather after a day in the mountains, whether on skis or on foot, and enjoy the sun on the inviting front steps. Nothing beats the view of the glacier from the window, and the living room is adorned with beautiful pictures depicting the history of the glacier.
The villa offers modern comfort and space for up to 18 guests, year-round. The former guesthouse features 8 cosy guest rooms, 4 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining area for 20 people. There are also 2 living rooms, a sunroom, and a large laundry room with a tumble dryer and boot dryer.
The villa has a private garden with comfortable outdoor furniture, a gas barbecue, an amphitheatre terrace with panoramic views of Nigardsbreen, and a fire pit — an ideal place to relax.
Our closest neighbour is the Breheimsenteret, open from May to October. Here you’ll find a café serving pizza, cakes, sandwiches, and the famous Norwegian waffles all day long, as well as coffee, soft drinks, ice cream, and alcoholic beverages. The centre also has a souvenir shop where you can buy gifts or outdoor clothing you might need during your stay. The exhibition offers a spectacular film about the glacier and Breheimen.
In Gjerdet (2 minutes by car), you’ll find a grocery store with a good selection of food, fresh baked goods, and fruit and vegetables daily.
You can book rafting trips on the river, paddle on the glacier lake, go glacier hiking, take a guided glacier tour, or explore the mountains on your own. The most famous peaks in Jostedal are Vangsen, Myrhørna, and Spørteggbu. You can also experience the Bergsetbreen, Tuftebreen, and Nigardsbreen glaciers, or admire them from afar from the mountain peaks.
Just 30 minutes away, in Gaupne, you’ll find Lustrabadet, an amazing swimming complex with sauna, hot tub, diving tower, children’s pool, and water slides. In Gaupne, you’ll also find great shops, cafés, and grocery stores.
We recommend a day trip to Solvorn, Urnes Stave Church, and Feigesagi, all located along Lustrafjorden, one of Norway’s most beautiful fjords. More information about activities can be found at Visit Sognefjord’s website.
