About this property
Ruth's Cottage - Three Bedroom House, Sleeps 5
Located in a quiet Cornish village, this charming cottage makes a fantastic base for days at the beach, walks in the countryside or visiting local attractions – whether you’re one or two couples, friends, or a family group. Just 4.5 miles away, Trebarwith Strand is a long, sandy beach which has seasonal lifeguards and is popular with surfers. The pretty seaside village of Port Isaac is also 4.5 miles away, where there are water sports opportunities, boat trips, boutique shops and some excellent places to eat and drink – don’t miss the local seafood! Explore a little further and you can reach the popular towns of Boscastle, Polzeath and Rock, all within 11 miles, while the atmospheric Tintagel Castle, full of legends, is only 6 miles away. This pretty stone cottage, which sits at the end of a terrace, beautifully combines original features with modern comforts; its soft colours emphasising a sense of peace and tranquillity. Step into the charming sitting room and admire the slate floor, ceiling beams, hand-made window shutters, and stone fireplace – the latter inset with a wood burner for cosy warmth at any time of the year. With a window overlooking the pretty lane and comfortable sofas to sink into, this is the perfect spot for curling up with a book and cup of coffee. Cooks will enjoy the kitchen with its bespoke cabinets, stainless-steel worktops and ceramic sink, as well as all the appliances you’ll need. The freezer is in the handy utility room, where you’ll also find laundry facilities. When your meal is ready, head to the dining room/snug, where you’ll find not only a small table but also a pair of armchairs and a Smart TV. Completing the ground floor is a pretty shower room, a stylish space for refreshing rinses. Head upstairs to find all three bedrooms – two king-size rooms and one single. One of the two king-size rooms has an en-suite bathroom with a free-standing copper bath, a unique and impressive feature that you’re bound to enjoy after a day in the fresh air. From the back door, a set of stone steps leads you up to an elevated, enclosed garden, where there’s a lawn and a patio with outdoor furniture and a built-in BBQ. On sunny days you’ll want to eat and drink out here as you breathe in the sea air and listen to the cries of the seagulls. Small garage for guests. Very useful for surfboards and bicycles. This property offers private parking for one car, with further on-street parking subject to availability.
