About this property
Coombe End Farm Lodge
Situated in a secluded part of the South Oxfordshire countryside, this characterful Grade II-listed holiday home neighbours a historic farmhouse close to Hartslock Nature Reserve and the famous Goring Gap. Stay here and explore a splendid part of the South Chilterns, starting with the ancient riverside villages of Goring (4 miles) and Streatley (4 miles), where two National Trails – The Ridgeway and the Thames Path – intersect. Enjoy pleasant strolls along the river and on the hills that rise beside the Goring Gap, admiring magnificent views across Oxfordshire and Berkshire. For a complete change of scene, the station at Goring offers a direct link to London. Discover more natural beauty direct from your doorstep by walking the Chiltern Way, which passes through the farm. Closer to home, Pangbourne (3 miles) is an ideal place to wander its shops, cafes and its water meadows.
Just over a mile from the village green in Whitchurch Hill, a long driveway leads off the country lane to a farmhouse that dates from the 17th century. Beside it – but separate – is the barn-style property. Enter through French doors and you’ll find an inviting living room styled in complete contrast to the rustic façade, with a Smart TV, contemporary wood flooring and rooflights above a comfortable seating area. Adjacent, the kitchen/dining room has the same welcoming feel, with a farmhouse-style table where you can enjoy home-cooked meals. At the end of each day, you have a choice of two double bedrooms. The first is one step down from the living room, and has its own Smart TV and a door giving direct access outside. The other is on the first floor, and features wood-panelled walls and ceiling, plus pretty windows on three sides. Across the large landing, the family bathroom has the same panelling and modern tiling, with a shower over the bath offering convenience for all.
Embrace country life by stepping out into your private courtyard garden, where there’s a patio and lawn, plus dining furniture and a BBQ. The views from the farm are fantastic, with trees to one side and fields to the other.
