The studio has diamond head view and Ala Wai canal view. You can enjoy all the amenities the hotel provided. There is full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, AC, coffee maker, rice cooker,TV, fan, lamps. Parking not included, but you can rent from the building or other building. The studio is fully renovated. The studio is about 260 sf.

Well located in the city! Services are avalaible around and it is not far from the beach. The bed was a bit too springy, but it is OK for the price.

Wonderful experience

The room was clean, well supplied, and comfortable. Jan was proactive in reaching out and responsive. Large collections of food trucks and a 7-eleven nearby made meals easy. Recommend highly!

I loved staying here! Perfect for our trip! I have so much more i would love to share about this place, however the review box isn't big enough! If you go, stop by the coffee shop on the lower level! Masalas to die for, guaranteed!

This property was perfect for my friend and I who were first timers to Hawaii! Everything we needed was included and we had a beautiful view of the canal. We were about a 7-10 minute walk from the beach and everything is very close by! I definitely recommend the cafe that is attached to the hotel! Would definitely stay here again!

Jan provided easy check‐in and check‐out instructions, and the location is very convenient. The unit itself is compact and furnished very simply, so it may feel snug if you’re used to more spacious rentals. Access to the on-site gym and certain extras (including items stocked in the fridge) incurs additional fees, and basic toiletries such as soap are not supplied. Overall a straightforward, well-located option that offers fine value for a minimalist stay.

Our Stay

This property was very convenient. It was close to lots of shopping and dining options. Communication with the host was swift and straight to the point, which is awesome. They were also friendly. Checkin and checkout was also easy and non-stressful. The only thing about our stay was the cleanliness. They have everything you could need within the room; however lots of unnecessary things as well. Overall I would recommend staying here!

I’m not satisfied with the room. It’s dirty, towels look like they never been cleaned. Too much junk in the closet. The bed mattress is very old. Bed sheets are too thin and dark can’t tell if they were cleaned. I won’t even recommend it to anyone.

Cost Effective Stay

The building is a bit older, but the room simple (just what we needed as we didn't want to spend a ton of time in a room) and extremely affordable. It made it possible for use to do other things as we were working on a budget. Parking at the building was a bit more than I anticipated and street parking is limited. Communication with the host was smooth and effective.

Great stay in Waikiki

We had a great time staying at Jan's. She was an amazing host and communication was great the whole time. The place is exactly as listed, it is small and it isn't a hotel, and if you are looking for a hotel experience, then this won't be the place for you. What it was however was a really great place to come home to after a day of adventuring, clean, with all your basic needs, and a very comfortable bed, in a convenient walkable Waikiki location, and at a very affordable price. I think your opinion of this place will be highly dependent on your expectations. We loved it and would definitely recommend it; it was just what we needed and at a great price.

Smooth and it all works but a bit run down

It’s close to the conference center, where we were exhibiting. It’s essentially a large studio with full kitchen. It all feels a bit run down (my shower head just wouldn’t stay up, older towels, saggy mattress, curtains that don’t fully close, could use a better paint job). There’s plenty of things in cupboards (I assume leftover shower stuff, beach things) that are greet to have. It was great value for the time I was there so I’d likely book again.

Hawaiian Monarch Hotel (Nui Street)

The room was unclean. The floor boards coming apart. No kitchen sink (where to wash dishes used?) in the bathroom sink. No garbage bags, the drapes were falling apart at the hangers, the dishes in the cupboard were dirty and the bed was absolutely terrible (mattress, headboard falling apart.etc., etc., etc.

Uncomfortable dirty „budget“ Stay

We stayed here for 7 days and did not feel very comfortable. The room was dirty and we didn’t know what the cleaning-fee was used for. We even found a bug crawling right next to the silverware. After asking for a refund of the fee the owner would not negotiate with us, while the manager was very friendly. The place is right next to a street so it can be really loud even at night.

The room is easily accessible with very convenient check-in and checkout and has all the basic amenities. It is small but cozy and the location is fantastic, only 7 min walk away from the convention center. Parking on site is expensive and cash-only which was inconvenient.

This property is in terrible shape and should not be rented to unsuspecting visitors!!!! Dirty single pane windows that allow street noises. Torn drapes, wiring of TV etc visible and a mess. Fortunately I only used it two nights. Pity the tourist who booked for a vacation. Reeks 1960 w/o updates. I'd like my money back. I trusted Travelovity and got the shaft!!!!!!!

Amazing again.
