About this property
Casa Eleonora - Emilio\'s Room
‘Casa Eleonora’ offers the possibility of a unique experience in an elegant eighteenth-century building located in the oldest village of Pisticci.
In Casa Eleonora, once inhabited by a well-known local lawyer, all the original furnishings have been deliberately retained. This is because the idea is to live a real experience in an original context where every single detail brings to life moments, atmospheres and emotions of times gone by.
Losing oneself in the details such as the antique typewriters, the solid wood cupboards, the wooden trunks, the brass brazier and many other objects brings the mind back to childhood memories often experienced with parents or grandparents, thus allowing one to pause to reflect and relax while the world outside continues to spin at a much faster speed.
All this “embedded” in the oldest district of the city, the Terravecchia district, which at the time was a kind of small republic, not in the political-administrative sense, but in the organisational sense, with politicians, administrators, managers, professionals with degrees and diplomas, clerks, artisans, workers and much more.
A district, which at the time had about 300 souls, in which nothing was lacking, lawyers, prosecutors of the Republic of Matera, a large number of educators, tailors, carpenters, shoemakers and much more. In short, a district full of history and culture just like the one you can breathe in the rooms of Casa Eleonora.
Visit us to enjoy relaxation, escapism and to live in close contact with local traditions and life.
