Simply the best
Great house, all you might need is in. Bridget is a super host, charming, attendant.
The only thing is that a car is needed.
We had a great time and highly recommend HABIBI HOUSE .
A wonderful holiday!
Habibi House was the perfect base for our holiday. The house is very tucked away but easily accessible to local shops, restaurants and beaches. We loved the gardens and the privacy, not being overlooked by other properties and it has stunning views to the mountaiins and the surrounding landscape. The village is very characterful, like going back in time, young children still play in the streets here and are sent on shopping errands for lunch to the local village shops. The house is well appointed, a well kitted out kitchen, plenty of space for two families. We loved the white linen in the bedrooms and also enjoyed the very generous Welcome Pack of groceries, wine and beer upon our arrival. We look forward to returning for another holiday next year. We can not recommend Habibi House more highly.
Truly magnificent villa
Habibi House is truly a magnificent villa that offers everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Set in a peaceful location it is easy to while away the sun-drenched days and perfect for a few drinks watching the spectacular sunsets. We particularly liked to walk through the lovely gardens that are abundant with herbs and fruit trees. We even made our own "limonata" (Cypriot home-made lemonade) from the lemon trees.
The villa is more than adequately equipped to cater for a family (in our case 6 adults and baby) to enjoy the bbq under the shade of the bouganvilla terrace. A dip in the good sized pool before setting off to the many nearby reataurants rounded off many enjoyable day. We loved the hospitality and food at the Courtyard and Eminem in Catalkoy was just delightful to sample the Cypriot cuisine.
We would like to thank Bidi and Steve for their extremely friendly welcome and service and very prompt attention when the dishwasher decided to spring a leak. A full replacement within 24 hours - exceptional !!!
We will definitely be returning to Habibi in the not too distant future. Just try stopping us !!!!

Our first stay at Habibi Villa but it definitely won't be our last. We stayed for a week in May 2017 which went far too quick!! The location of the Villa is perfect, really quiet and on the outskirts of the village. We went with the intention of eating out at local restaurants but the Villa and facilities were so good we ate in. Sitting on the terrace with a drink in the quiet early evening was just perfect. There are good supermarkets close by with a very good range of products. We recommend hiring a car to get the most out of the surrounding area. Thank you Bidi and Steve for making us feel so welcome.
HABIBI HOUSE, STUNNING PROPERTY, GREAT LOCATION.
This was our second stay at Habibi House, and our party of six people have booked again for next year, I think that says it all. Bidi and Steve (the owners) are perfect hosts and lovely people to deal with. Nothing is too much trouble for them, they gathered together a superb welcome pack for us, even adding items we requested.
The photos of the house and gardens do not do it justice, it is absolutely stunning and really well looked after. It is positioned away from the village of Catalkoy in a small friendly local community and is a perfect base to either relax and do nothing or explore the surroundings. The weather is nearly always perfect at this time of year. A short drive away are the beautiful Kyrenia harbour with its fish retaurants, the beautiful mountain village of Bellapais, both of these are a must see.
If you want a fabulous place to stay in Northern Cyprus don`t look any further.
Habibi House is situated on the edge of the village of Catalkoy. It offers uninterrupted views of the mountains to the south and views to the sea to the north. It is very private and not overlooked by any other property, being tucked away. It overlooks and ancient olive grove just next to the pool.
In Catalkoy village there are three restaurants and bars and local facilities such as small shops. A few miles away is the famous town of Kyrenia (Girne in Turkish).
There are many supermarkets within 5 minutes of the house, also hairdressers, chemists, vegetable market, off license, ATMs and banks. So getting your provisions for the house is very easy.
A must do is to drive the stunning road which takes you to the Panhandle and the Karpaz region which is a protected nature reserve. This is a lovely trip which you can do in a day. There are lots of little restaurants and guest houses in and around Dipkarpaz which are worth trying. Our personal favorite is Oasis at Ayios Phylon, have a look at it on the internet.
There is a local beach 5 minutes drive away at Catalkoy and other beaches further along the coast within easy reach. The house is well-positioned to explore the north and north east sides of the island generally. Google Earth co-ordinates are 35 19'10'N, 33 23'37'E.
Other Activities: Nature area on Panhandle (or Karpaz). Turtle beach at Alagadi, only 10 minutes from Habibi House, is famous as a nesting place for both Loggerhead and Greenback Turtles. There is a summer research center in the village and you can get involved in baby turtle releases and also guided night watches when the turtles come to lay their eggs.
Golf: There is a very good Golf course, The Korineum Golf and Country Club at Esentepe, which is only 15 minutes drive from Habibi House.
Boat day trips from Kyrenia Harbour are also very popular. There are many different gullets to chose from, some run fishing trips and some do day trips along the north coast.
All of North Cyprus is very beautiful indeed. It is worth coming in the Springtime too as the Island has an abundance of fabulous flora, including many species of orchid.
There are some wonderful walks in the mountains which boast three Crusader Castles, St Hillarion, Buffavento, and Kantara, all of which are worth a visit.
