About this property
Avalon - Four Bedroom House, Sleeps 8
Nestled in a quiet spot in Porthcawl, just a stone’s throw from the gloriously golden beaches this area is famous for, this spacious, homely hideaway is the perfect setting for a long-awaited get-together with family and friends. Hailed as one of South Wales’s most popular holiday resorts, the bustling seaside town of Porthcawl features Wales’s oldest listed bonded warehouse, the Jennings Building, which has been refurbished into a lively waterside spot boasting excellent cafes and restaurants. Just behind the seafront, 2 miles away, an exciting range of independent shops alongside high street brands awaits. Nestled between Rhych Point and Newton Point on a low limestone headland, Trecco Bay, located 2.5 miles away, is an idyllic, sandy beach perfect for paddling, swimming, and surfing. Get in a round of golf on the nearby golf course or attend one of the many tournaments. The beautiful dunes of Kenfig Nature Reserve, also 2 miles away, are home to Glamorgan’s largest natural lake and offer spectacular views across Swansea Bay.
Beneath the charming 1960s exterior, you’ll find a haven of contemporary character within the spacious entrance hallway that leads to the delightful lounge, which is flooded with natural sunlight from the beautiful bay window. Enjoying a soothing neutral colour palette, the generous open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner at the heart of this home-away-from-home provides ample space for the whole family to relax, cook, and dine at the end of a busy day’s adventure; contemporary country cottage-style decor and rustic touches embrace the heritage of the surrounding scenery. Across the first and second floors, you’ll find four beautifully finished bedrooms that provide an oasis of calm to retire to. The first floor boasts one en-suite king-size and two double bedrooms, while the second floor encompasses a final king-size bedroom that features an additional single bed. The contemporary family bathroom on the first floor provides everything you need to feel refreshed.
Outside, children and dogs can let off some steam exploring the large lawn in the enclosed garden as you enjoy dining alfresco on the patio with a glass of something chilled. There is private parking for four cars at the property.
