I began by booking this apartment through Vrbo. I was whisked away to the booking sites for BelVilla and Checkmy Guest, neither of which I’ve ever heard of. I had no idea if I had gotten pulled into an Internet fraud or not, and the difficulties in paying and having to register with lots of personal identification, made it that much more concerning. Ultimately, it turned out. It was a legitimate service, but it’s one of these huge management companies where nobody knows anything about any of the properties and they cannot accommodate anything like early check-in or other requests. I would not deal with a booking that took me outside of Vrbo again — there is no accountability and while the people at the office in Paris were extremely nice, it was not the kind of convenient experience that I would be looking for. I arrived at six in the morning, and had to sit at the airport, so as to arrive to check my luggage after the office opened at 10 am. Then I had to return to the office to pick up my luggage and travel across town to check into the apartment. Definitely a huge hassle.
