About this property

Sea Thrift House is a beautiful Victorian three storey house, overlooking the cricket ground and tuc

Sea Thrift House is a beautiful Victorian three storey house, overlooking the cricket ground and tucked away in quiet street in Overstrand just a short walk down to the beach. This impressive family home has been renovated and styled beautifully throughout whilst still retaining many original features, making it the perfect place for larger groups and families to escape and enjoy long walks and days on the beach.

On entering the house you are welcomed into the stunning entrance hall with the original black and white tiled flooring and the staircase straight ahead. The sitting room has comfortable sofas and armchairs arranged around the wood burning stove and a smart television. Antique pine doors lead you through to the dining room, with large table, original ornamental fireplace and pops of colour. From here French doors lead out to the courtyard garden. There's an additional breakfast room / dining area leading to the bright and well-equipped kitchen and a further garden room beyond, so plenty of space for everyone to find room when needed. The well equipped kitchen is perfect for rustling up delicious suppers and has a free-standing Range cooker with five burner gas hob, and wine fridge as well as all the equipment you will need to cook up a storm. With plenty of natural light the garden room is the perfect spot for a quiet drink or relaxing with a book and looking into the pretty courtyard garden.

On the first floor, you will find two king-sized and a double bedroom, all with ornamental fireplaces, quality furnishings and attractive decor. The double bedroom also has a back staircase (originally the servants staircase) leading down to the garden room. On this floor you will also find the Jack-and-Jill family bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower, as well as an additional WC and a further shower room. Up again to the second floor, two more bedrooms are equally attractive and well furnished. To the front is the largest bedroom with a king-sized bed, and a bay window and far reaching views. A comfortable twin bedroom next door has views over the roof tops. There is also a shower room with WC to serve this floor.

The pretty courtyard garden is paved and part gravelled with plenty of room for morning coffee and alfresco dining in the warmer months. An outbuilding houses a tumble dryer, under counter freezer and outdoor furniture and is also perfect for storage of bicycles or beach equipment. There is unrestricted parking on the street outside and it is possible to also drop off at the rear through the garden gate. All in all Sea Thrift House is a charming, top quality, character property close to the beach in the popular village of Overstrand - what a find!
