The Wild Woodpecker, Cobblestone Barn, Lancaster

This is a two storey cottage with a large open plan living and dining area  perfect for socialising. On the ground floor you'll find a double bedroom, twin room and shared bathroom and upstairs you'll find a double bedroom en-suite with a single bed.

Our site, Patty's Barn is a collection of 4-star self-catering cottages, located 10 minutes from the historic city of Lancaster. 

Each cottage comes well-equipped with everything you need for the perfect stay. All full of character and original features, there is plenty of room to rest and relax whilst enjoying the unspoilt natural beauty of the surrounding area. You can walk the coastal pathway from your doorstep or explore our onsite nature trail across private woodlands, open fields, pond areas and two, 3-acre fishing lakes.

The kitchens are fully equipped giving you that home away from home feeling and you’ll find fresh linen, towels, super-fast wi-fi, washing facilities, natural skincare products, etc, everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Onsite you'll find:

Our communal games room which includes; a pool table, table tennis, air hockey, and sofas. *(Please note that on certain occasions, our games room may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled events taking place.)



Outdoor dining area with BBQ and fireplace



Small gym with free weights and rowing machine, cross trainer and bike. 



Lots of outdoor space to explore, including a nature trail that covers 4km, through our private woodlands, ponds and fields, there is lots of wildlife and nature to explore.



Enjoy our wood-fired hot tub as an optional add-on during your stay. This is a self-service experience We provide the firewood, but you are responsible for heating the tub yourself by adding logs throughout the day. The water takes approximately 5 hours to reach temperature, with logs needing to be added roughly once an hour. When you book, you are booking the hot tub for one specific day of your stay, not your entire visit. Important We only have one hot tub on site, so availability is limited. To secure your booking, you must contact us and confirm the specific date you wish to use it. Please give us as much notice as possible. Until you confirm a date with us, the hot tub is not booked.



The Out Barn, is a covered outdoor dining area, with a BBQ fireplace and decorated with rustic, quirky interiors.



We have a private events room which you can hire for parties or, be sure to check out our sister company, Land and Sea Lancaster which are located onsite with a calendar of inspiring events, workshops and food experiences to get involved with during your stay.



Patty’s has two 3 acre fishing lakes containing carp up to 34lb, if fishing is your thing.



You might even find yourself jumping out of a plane during your stay with The Black Knights Skydive Centre which provides solo or tandem parachute jumps just a stone's throw away.



Plus, plenty more nooks and crannies to explore during your stay



There are many excellent restaurants, pubs and cafes in the area and we are always happy to make recommendations. 

It’s best if you have a car to get around and about to truly appreciate the scenic Lancashire countryside.
