About this property
2 Hart Head Barn, Beautiful Renovated Barn in Rydal Sleeping 10.
Perched at the top of the peaceful hamlet of Rydal, 2 Hart Head Barn is a beautifully refurbished Lakeland barn with sweeping views in every direction—looking out across Rydal Water, Lake Windermere, and the dramatic fells beyond. Thoughtfully renovated in 2025, this spacious home is a warm, welcoming base for large families or groups of friends to come together and enjoy the very best of the Lakes.
Blending traditional Lakeland slate and character features with all the comforts of modern living, the barn has been fully updated with brand new kitchens, bathrooms, furniture, and systems throughout, plus a newly built terrace for taking in those views in style.
Space to Unwind and Enjoy:
The imposing house is configured with four of the bedrooms on the ground floor and the fifth bedroom and living spaces on the first floor.
Inside, you’ll find five well-appointed bedrooms, two with their own en-suites, as well as two family bathrooms and two additional WCs—ideal for larger groups. The brand new kitchen is fully equipped for cooking up hearty group meals, and the dining room seats ten, so there’s plenty of room to gather and share stories after a day out on the fells.
The spacious living room centres around a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings in, while a separate TV room gives everyone space to unwind in their own way. There’s also a large utility and boot room—perfect for walkers, cyclists or wild swimmers to gear up or wind down.
Special Outdoor Spaces:
Step outside and you’ll find a generous garden and terrace, perfect for lazy morning coffees, an evening glass of wine or simply soaking up the peace and quiet with a view that never gets old.
Perfect Location:
This spot is perfect —just next door to Rydal Mount, once home to William Wordsworth, and set right on the scenic Rydal to Grasmere circuit walk. The Fairfield Horseshoe starts on your doorstep, and some of the region’s best trails, swim spots, and cycling routes are right within reach.
Grasmere is a short walk or drive away and is packed with tea rooms, independent shops and pubs, while Ambleside is just down the road with its restaurants, cinemas, and ferry connections from Waterhead Pier on Lake Windermere.
Whether you’re here to explore, switch off, or reconnect with friends and family, 2 Hart Head Barn offers a magical base to do it all—with scenery that’s hard to beat and space that’s made for making memories.
