About this property

An artistic and sustainably built home in a semi rural setting of Walla Walla.

Dwelling #1336 is truly artful creation. It is a reappropriation of pieces belonging to local/regional structures; wall boards from a Walla Walla cabin, angle iron from irrigation center pivot, structural timbers from a Lowden grain storage bin, steel trusses from a elementary school, and beams from the Umatilla Chemical Weapons Depot. These pieces were thoughtfully placed to create a minimalistic dwelling that is sustainable and comfortable.

This home is located in a semi rural setting, just minutes away from the downtown and beautiful views of the blue mountains. It is an ideal space for a couples get away weekend. The home has one bedroom, a lovely kitchen, and cozy wood burning stove. The large windows and open design create a feel of spaciousness and ease for all who stay here.

Very speical find!

This is a unique, artistic home in the heart of wine country. Every item that makes up this home, inside and out, was done with purpose and taste. Well-appointed kitchen with top of the line appliances and equipment. This place is very special.

Wonderful weekend in Walla Walla

House was just as advertised and more. Beautifully built and filled with thought out furnishing and extras. Nice linen and towels, well stocked kitchen and interesting books and board games. Driveway is a bit tricky especially at night but we were given good directions. Loved our stay here and would like to visit again!

Reclaimed property

The house is very cute. Almost all of the constuction was made from local reclaimed building materials. Totally fun. We even discussed building a vacation home like this. We are going to stay here again.

A real gem

I was going to call it a diamond in the rough, but I don't want to imply it needs work. It's a one-of-a-kind house built out of reclaimed materials, including an 1870s homestead and a grain storage--hence the "rough". But it was clearly designed by an artist, because it's a real work of art, especially on the inside. It's also one of the best outfitted Vrbo/Airbnb's I've ever stayed at. We've been going to Walla Walla for the past 3 years and this is the nicest place we've stayed. Will definitely try to come back.

Thanks!

We had a great time staying at this awesome vrbo! We felt as though the sliding door could have used curtains especially at night. There is an outside light that doesn’t turn off but there was specific instructions not to leave outside lights on for neighbors. It was a short bike ride for us to go downtown which was nice! Bed was comfy!

Great house. Would definitely stay again. Unfortunately, our trip was cut short. Chrissy was incredibly easy to work with. We would recommend this little "gem" in the rough!

A beautiful oasis in Walla Walla

Tucked behind its neighbors and hidden from the street the house feels more like it’s out on the prairie. We spent several days just relaxing on the porch, soaking in the calm. It is simple and well appointed and only short bike ride from downtown. The building itself is beautifully constructed from parts of old industrial structures and a schoolhouse - fascinating to look at and discover all the ways recycling and reuse (and immaculate craft) can provide elegant modern comforts. We will definitely come back to stay.

Great place

Nice, higher end styling with old charm comfort. Nice layout and ease of staying. I am in a wheelchair and this place works good. The shower for me was a little challenge but for the norm it is not an issue. Great little fireplace too. If I go back to Walla Walla, it’s where I’ll stay for sure.

Awesome House!

Loved our stay in this quaint architecturally interesting home. The attention to interior design was inspiring and high end amenities were luxurious. Lighting a fire in the wood stove on a rainy evening made the ambience all the more cozy. The manager was extremely responsive and kind. Highly recommend!

Perfect

This place was fantastic, the attention to detail was thoughtful and appreciated. We wanted to take all of the furniture with us! Loved the book selection and all of the architecturel design choices. Though the house was surrounded by other homes, it still felt very secluded. Chrissy was super nice and responsive and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. This will always be our first choice to stay in Walla Walla. Thanks Chrissy and Dirk!

A wonderful property with a unique personality

Chrissy was very helpful as were the instructions for the house. Although it is in the middle of a neighborhood, you can easily feel like you are secluded the way the house is tucked back on the property. We very much enjoyed the amenities and the overal style of this house. If you want some down time, try the wooden hummingbird puzzle. It is a work of art.
