The location of Ixchel is fantastic. The complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas are a great amenity. You can not use Ixchel's towels, you have to take your own down and bring them back up. House keeping does replace towels daily. I messaged the host multiple times with questions about the contract she sent and I never received an answer. There was good communication in the WhatsApp group chat, but never from the actual host - just her management team. Victor picked us up and took us back to the ferry. He was very sweet added convenience. There was an excessive amount of mold on the fabric lounge bed upstairs/outside; so much mold that it would not be safe to lay on. There was also a lot of mold in the caulking/corners of the showers. The water pressure was not great and it made it difficult to get the sand out of long hair. The whole unit would not go below 24 degrees celsius despite having it set to 18 degrees and keeping the curtains closed the entire stay. The fan in the room with the twin beds does not turn on. Many towels were stained, the living room curtains have holes, and there are broken floor tiles in the twin bedroom.

Our vacation stay was comfortable, convenient, and truly relaxing. The accommodations were well-maintained and fully equipped with all the amenities we needed, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. The staff stood out for their reliability and friendliness, always ready to assist and ensuring that every detail was taken care of.One of the highlights was the location. We were just a short walk from a variety of shops and excellent restaurants, making dining and exploring effortless. The beach was also nearby, offering beautiful views and easy access for morning strolls or sunset walks. The surrounding area was perfect for walking, with safe, pleasant paths that encouraged us to get out and enjoy the scenery each day.Overall, it was a seamless and enjoyable experience—ideal for anyone looking for a stress-free getaway with comfort, convenience, and attentive service.

Extremely loud construction on site. Unable to sleep past 9 AM as construction was right outside window. Children could not rest with construction noise 9am-7pmOwner could have mentioned construction out of common courtesy, they chose not to.The AC is over 30 yrs old. owners choose not to replace it. Had to keep all the blackout curtains closed all day to try to stay cool. 79 is the coolest it got the whole time.1 fan didn’t work & I was told it would be replaced, never got replaced.Ice machine is mentioned in ad but there isn’t one.Kitchen mentioned in ad, but there is no oven. That could’ve been mentioned as I planned to bake frozen foods for my little girls.Irons are mentioned in ad, but do not work. The one that did get hot left black residue on my dress I planned to wear to my son’s wedding. Dress was ruined.DVD & stereo mentioned in ad but there were none. Washer & dryer mentioned in ad. there is no washer &dryer in the unit. You have to leave money on the counter so someone can switch it out for coins & then you have to walk to a communal area which we had no idea where it was. I chose to hand wash what was needed much easier than going on a hunt for coins & communal laundry room. There is a TV in the front room & TV in the kids bedroom. Master bedroom upstairs does not have a TV. The basic master on main floor does not have TV.Most concerning was the wrong key provided for penthouse access. My child was locked out. That was my worst panic attack to date.

This place was amazing, a gem. I booked for friends and family, more specifically for a birthday weekend getaway and all guests were wowed by the location and all the amenities offered by Cecilia’s Penthouse. My family already is looking forward to staying there again, as we are frequent travelers to this beautiful island. Thank you, Cecilia and Chema for the excellent communication and service.

Ixchel Beach Hotel

We loved our 5th floor penthouse…beautiful views from large patio w/ hot tub. The kitchen was well furnished including coffee/tea/milk so we did not have to run out to be ready for next morning after traveling all day. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We loved going down to beach for breakfast 🥰. The bedrooms are large w/ comfortable beds…great to have 3 bathrooms 👍. I would recommend for your trip to Isla🙋‍♀️

I really can’t say enough about Ciecilia and her entire staff. Mayra, Alejandro, Victor were all great and ready to help with anything we needed. This location is close to everything, food, shopping, and of course beautiful playa nota beach. We will be back to Isla and we will 100% stay here again.

Location location location!

The property is in a great location close to everything and on a beautiful beach. The rooms are big and the property is very clean. The owner and everyone we dealt with was friendly, very responsive and easy to communicate with. We had some issues with water leaking when it rained and the hot tub never got above mid 90’s which was a bummer on the cloudy/rainy days. The views and the beach chairs/access are amazing. Overall we had a great stay.

Would stay again

Girls trip, first time to Isla Mujeres. Would return and stay at this listing. Ixchel is a lovely property with beautiful grounds and laidback feel. Perfect location, just a few moments away from all the action on either the beach, pool or main entertainment street. Walking distance to grocery store and multiple convenient stores. Sunset hot tub time is not to be missed!Cecelia and her team were friendly and responsive. There were some maintenance issues at the condo that were addressed by the team in a timely fashion. Hope to stay again!

The perfect condo in the perfect location

I cannot say enough good things about this property. Ultra communicative management, amazing location close to everything and a roof deck with fantastic amenities… They asked if we had any suggestions for management when we departed and I honestly can’t think of a thing I would change. Even the recommendations for restaurants and excursions were spot on (rent the catamaran for a day!!!) can’t wait to come back! We absolutely loved our entire trip! The perfect mix of relaxation and liveliness!
