About this property
Large historic home overlooking the sea in Connemara
Doon House is a large impressive home which is spacious and brimming full of character. The entrance hall includes a solid-fuel stove and opens onto a generous terrace furnished for outdoor sitting, with views across the sea. The drawing room has an open fire and several seating areas, leading into a bright conservatory. The dining room seats ten and has a sunny bay window with additional seating.
The library offers a quiet place to unwind, furnished with comfortable sofas, a television and a broad selection of books. The kitchen, connected directly to the dining room, is well set up with a Lacanche range, a small island and a large table suited to relaxed everyday meals. A separate pantry keeps things organised, and there is also a downstairs cloakroom.
Upstairs there are five good-sized double bedrooms and three bathrooms.
High-speed fibre broadband, electricity and heating are all included in the rental price, along with daily housekeeping. Catering can be arranged if needed. Guests also have use of a laundry room with washing machine, drying room and tumble dryer.
Beside the main house is a games and reading room with a pool table, table tennis, chess, a small puppet theatre and plenty more books — a great place to unwind after a day exploring Connemara.
