The double bedroom on the ground floor offers ample storage space and stands close to the dining room and kitchen, with access to a private yard beyond. A family bathroom and a king-size bedroom with views of the abbey and harbour stand on the first floor, with a comfortable lounge close by. There are yet more lovely views of Whitby from the twin bedroom on the second floor, which is also home to a shower room. Whitby’s charming town centre and quayside lie within 250 metres of the cottage, an area rich in maritime and cultural history. Whitby’s clifftop abbey offers a unique insight into the area’s past and is worth the 199-step climb from the old town alone. Robin Hood’s Bay (7 miles) has been on the “must visit” list for generations, while the beautiful scenery of the North York Moors National Park (2.5 miles) is unforgettable.
