Masseria del Ponte is housed in an ancient stone building located on the outskirts of Pretoro, a small village considered one of the most beautiful in Italy, at the foot of the Majella National Park. Completely renovated in 2012, it has been welcoming travellers for several years now: it is the ideal place to discover Abruzzo, nestled in the greenery and tranquility of the park, just a stone’s throw from the mountain peaks and a short drive from the coast.
The Masseria consists of two independent apartments, each with its own entrance and a shared, fenced-in garden equipped with a barbecue area available to guests. Both apartments feature: a living area and kitchen with a fireplace, sofa, and TV; an entryway with a staircase leading to the upper floor; and the bedroom is located on the upper floor. In the larger apartment, totaling 60 square metres, the bedroom has a double bed and a single bed (maximum capacity of 3 people); the bathroom with a shower is located on the same floor. In the smaller apartment, with a total area of 45 square metres, the bedroom has a double bed (sleeps 2 people); the bathroom with a shower is located on the ground floor.
In both apartments, a cot can be added upon request; in addition, the sofas in the living areas convert into queen-size beds—so it’s possible to accommodate one or two additional guests in each apartment (for rates and additional costs, please send us a message before booking!).
The Masseria’s garden is fenced, and we’re happy to welcome dogs, but only upon request and approval! In fact, unless you’re renting both apartments, the garden is shared, and we need to confirm whether other pets are present before accepting additional ones. So don’t forget to contact us before booking if you’d like to bring your dog along!
Families love our property because we have a large, fenced-in garden where children can play and enjoy the fresh air of our area, listen to the wildlife in the nearby woods, and gaze at the starry skies at night.

La Masseria del Ponte is just 17 km from the Passolanciano-Maielletta ski resort and 36 km from the Pescara airport. The village of Pretoro is the perfect base for skiing on the Maiella, hiking along the countless trails that branch off into the park—just a stone’s throw from our Masseria—and even for exploring the Abruzzo coast in the summer, returning to sleep in a cool retreat away from the summer chaos of the cities. The centre of Pretoro is just a few minutes’ drive from Masseria del Ponte; in town, you’ll find a well-stocked supermarket, an excellent butcher shop, and a pharmacy, as well as several restaurants, bars, and a craft brewery. In Fara Filiorum Petri, a village just 3 km away, there are also several supermarkets, other dining options, and a small cheese producer.
