Town: Thame is a charming market town in Oxfordshire resting between Oxford and Aylesbury. This wonderful town is named after the River Thames which runs through it and is known for the Thame Abbey which was founded in 1137 and destroyed during the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539. Today the town boasts an array of stores and local pubs including The Six Bells, The James Figg and The Black horse which all serve a variety of drinks and delicious pub food, perfect for date nights or treating your loved ones on the evenings when you don’t fancy cooking! The town also serves as the starting point of the Phoenix Trail which is a 5 mile path running from Thame to Princes Risborough, ideal for keen ramblers and cyclists looking to experience the countryside as it boasts views of the Chiltern Hills. The historic city of Oxford is just a short drive away and history enthusiasts will be in their element as it is bursting at the seams with museums like the Ashmolean Museum, The Story Museum and Oxford University Museum of Natural History.
