We absolutely enjoyed our stay here! Thank you so much Zena for your hospitality. The location was perfect and so relaxing. We will definitely be coming back!
It was an amazing and peaceful place to stay. The spectacular views of the sky and property truly were perfect. Zena, our host provided us with everything that needed. Loved her artful touches and decor. Definitely recommend staying at this property.
We were coming in right before it got dark out and Zena was there to greet us and give us a full tour and information about the property. Walking through her beautiful art gallery was always a treat. We had plans during our short stay but as soon as we got there, we realized we HAD to come back to stay with NO plans. The porch on the hill was such a beautiful and relaxing spot that we could have enjoyed all day. The whole property was perfect. The rental was very well appointed with ANYTHING you could need. The bed was comfortable and her extra touches made our stay very special. I would highly recommend this home. Zena was a delight and I could have sat and talked with her all day. A unique place with an equally unique and wonderful host!
Zena's guest house was comfortable, unique, and perfect for our getaway. We had everything we needed for our stay. The location was just minutes away from everything we wanted to do in the area, while being away from town with breathtaking views. We will definitely stay here again!
ZENA'S place never disappoints. She is a great hotess and her place has the most incredible views. The king size bed is so comfortable and she always makes us feel so welcome. We have stayed here several times and will stay again!
This property has amazing views! The design makes it feel like a 5-star hotel and offers a high class experience unlike any other in the area. The host was so incredibly friendly and made this stay even better.
We had a wonderful time and would love to have stayed longer. The view from the site is spectacular, and Zena (the owner) is an amazing artist who's decorated the place so everywhere you look, there's a unique piece of art. She's also well supplied the refrigerator - even two beers. Loved it here!
Scenic and Peaceful Spot for Hill Country Getaway!
What an amazing property! You'll enjoy scenic views from the relaxing porch, whether you're star gazing or having your morning coffee. Zena is the most accommodating host - she really has thought of everything her guests might need and the property, which shares space with her art gallery and workshop, is situated in a great spot for exploring Hill Country. Highly recommend! We'll be back soon!
Can I give more than 5 stars? Everything was perfect. The setting, the accommodations, the owner. All the little things were also just to notch. My only complaint is that I have no complaints and that just never happens to me 😄
What a wonderful experience. The sunrise each morning is spectacular. Very private and you can hear the breeze blowing thru the trees on the patio. The wineries are just a short drive away. Lots of wildlife on the land to view. We will definitely be back. Zena is a wonderful host and very inspiring. Thank you for everything. Lee and Terri
My husband and I spent the weekend at Zena's in Mid-August. First of all, to have Zena waving at us from on top of the hill let us know she was going to be a fantastic, generous hostess. She was warm, friendly, but also mindful of our privacy. Her home is set far enough away from the apartment that we felt absolutely alone in the hills. The apartment has everything, and I mean everything you could need, from coffee, eggs and bacon in the kitchen, to hairspray, shampoo and a first aid kit in the bath. The sunrise off the deck was magical. We are so sorry we never got to meet EJ. Zena, his spirit lives on in every spot of the property. We could tell the two of you lovingly built this place as a way to celebrate love, peace and tranquility. We enjoyed all 3 at your place. Thank you. All our best to you in this difficult time.
My husband and I chose Zena's unique place based on previous reviews and perfect location for our needs - we came down from Dallas to meet with friends who were staying at Miller's RV park nearby. Zena was easy to communicate with prior to our stay and a joy to meet in person while we were there for 3 full days. She went the extra mile to assist us unsolicited when a rain shower wet our rented SlingShot by covering with a tarp and offering towels to dry it off - also keeping umbrellas near our door to use if needed. She's a jewel and her gallery and apt. are so intriguing and comfortable and offer insights into the interesting perspectives from her life. She welcomed our friends one evening and joined us for lively conversation which we all enjoyed so much. Loved the well equipped kitchen (and treats of eggs/bacon/juices/beers for the taking) and views from her deck which made the experience a true get away from city life! Will return and suggest to our friends and family looking for a quality stay in the hill country.
My husband and I had a great time in Johnson City and our accommodations were great. Zina was very helpful with giving us wineries and nice places to go for dinner etc. The view from our guest house was beautiful. The full kitchen was a plus and she even had snacks and drinks in the refrigerator. We definitely would recommend this guest house and will stay there again.
Zena greeted us at the entrance and made sure we had everything we needed for a most comfortable stay! Everything was perfect, but the icing on the cake was her own custom artist’s touch everywhere! We truly were able to relax on that gorgeous patio with scenic views!
Beautiful property with sweeping view of the hill country. Close to wineries, Garrison Brothers distillery and has everything you need for a wonderful and relaxing getaway!
Great experience staying at this wonderful property with beautiful views of the hill country. Zena was a great host and her personal touch was seen through out the guest house. The art gallery was an added bonus to enjoy after a day exploring the hill country and wineries. We will definitely come back.
We had a wonderful visit to Johnson City and Fredericksburg this weekend and it was highlighted by our amazing accommodations at Copper Roof Ranch. Zena is such a gracious hostess and she has thought of everything anyone could need while staying in her apartment, from a fully stocked kitchen to toiletries in the bathroom to a frozen pizza, eggs and bacon in the fridge in case we needed a meal. Her personal, artistic touch is seen throughout the inside and outside of the apartment, and especially in the private gallery adjoining the living space. The apartment is warm and inviting. The view from the back deck is truly something to savor and can be enjoyed even from inside. We will definitely be back!
(Additionally, Christmas time is a magical time to spend an evening in Johnson City itself for the festivities and the Lights Spectacular. Just be prepared to wait a while if you decided to eat at one of the restaurants.)
I stayed here while participating in a visual arts workshop.
Staying here was a true bonus, the art and flair for design integrated into the house was super stimulating. Zena was a gracious and welcoming host.
I would definitely stay here again.
Zena is a wonderful host.. The only place we stay in the area. The rental is excellent... almost off grid... no internet/no television...beautiful, quiet property, I seriously could spend all day on the patio. Wildlife is a bonus! I also love being able to see the stars at night without all the city lights
Our host surprised us with champagne., chocolates and more upon our arrival. We were delighted with the welcoming Anniversary surprise. The from the porch was wonderful Hill Country views. From the master bedroom we woke up to beautiful sunrises. The refrigerator was stocked with food for snacks and breakfast
The unit was attached to to her eclectic art gallery. The stay surpassed our expectations.
No TV, our tv was art, nature and sunrises.
We loved our stay, the location was beautiful and perfect. Close to everything we wanted to see and do. Patio provides gorgeous, peaceful spot to relax.
My husband and I stayed at the Copper Roof Ranch during our visit to the Fredericksburg area. The property was beautiful, quiet and wonderfully appointed including a refrigerator stocked with the basics and all the tools needed to cook breakfast. Due to the weather we were not able to fully enjoy the outdoor space, but did to enjoy a little time outside while drinking our morning coffee. The property is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the drive. We will definitely keep it in our rotation when visiting the area.
The ambiance of the property is relaxed, creative, and welcoming. It's very evident that Zena, the owner, was very intentional in every detail of the property, from the interior decor to the perfect alignment of the bedroom window and outside patio to the eastern sunrise (if for no other reason, visit this property for the gorgeous sunrise!). Zena herself was extremely accommodating and made us feel right at home. The mattress is super soft, which was an adjustment for my wife and I who are used to a firm mattress, but overall was a wonderful experience and easily 5 stars!
This location was perfectly situated between Johnson city and Fredericksburg. It was a great place to stay for the wine trail with easy access to the local wineries. The guest house itself is located inside of the property managers art workshop away from the main house. The guest house has a full kitchen and a gorgeous porch with amazing views of the hills, you can watch the sun rise from the bed. The bathroom was roomy enough for 2 people to get ready in together. The owner communicated with us perfectly and answered any questions we had, she was very nice and attentive to any needs. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this location to friends and family.
