In the heart of Gallipoli’s historic center, A Funtanaria is more than just a place to sleep — it’s a small journey into the soul of Salento. The moment you step onto the private terrace, you feel as though you’ve entered a suspended dimension, surrounded by the honey-colored facades of historic buildings, the scent of the sea, and golden light gently brushing every surface.

THE LAYOUT
All the spaces are located on a single level — a rare feature in Gallipoli and a great convenience, especially for families. The private entrance leads directly to the spacious, welcoming terrace, equipped with a table and chairs for outdoor dining.
From the terrace, you can access the house in two ways: through a side door leading to the bedroom, passing by a cozy reading nook furnished with an armchair and small table; or through the main entrance that opens into the anteroom, an elegant space with Apulian ceramics, comfortable armchairs, and a side table.
THE KITCHEN
To the right of the anteroom, the kitchen is spacious, bright, and fully equipped. Decorative plates adorn the walls, a typical Apulian pantry is at your disposal, and everything you need to cook, have breakfast, or prepare an aperitif to enjoy on the terrace is provided.
THE LIVING ROOM
Opposite the entrance, a sliding door opens into the living room, which can remain open or be separated from the rest of the house to serve as a second bedroom, thanks to a comfortable double sofa bed.
THE BEDROOM
On the left is the main bedroom, spacious, quiet, and with dual exposure ensuring light and fresh air. The high vaulted ceilings keep the space cool even on the hottest days, while a desk offers a peaceful spot to read or work.
THE BATHROOM
The bathroom has been fully renovated and features a large shower with side jets, set in a niche that once housed an old kitchen fireplace. The original hood, now integrated into the shower, adds a touch of comfort and authenticity.
THE TERRACE
The heart of the home is the terrace: an open-air retreat where time moves more slowly. A reading corner with an armchair and small table invites relaxation, while at the center stands a small yellow terracotta fountain, from which the house takes its name. Its color echoes the golden facades of Gallipoli’s buildings, creating a poetic connection with the city.
