One small, friendly dog is welcome, and the owners’ own friendly Labrador can often be seen around the farm. The welcoming owners live nearby and are happy to share their local knowledge, with maps and useful information provided in the cottage. They also run a local taxi company and can offer discounted pick-ups from the train station in town by arrangement.

The surrounding area is a haven for walkers and nature lovers, with scenic footpaths and quiet country lanes right from the doorstep. Just a short drive away, Welshpool offers independent shops, cafés and the impressive Powis Castle and Gardens, managed by the National Trust.
