We are Alan and Shirley, and we have lived and worked in the Brampton area all our lives. Surrounded by close family and friends, we feel incredibly fortunate to call this beautiful part of the world home—and we love sharing it with our guests.

Since 2022, we have personally managed Wall & Lakes Cottage, taking great pride in maintaining it to a high standard of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation. We look after everything ourselves to ensure each stay is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

We genuinely enjoy welcoming guests from across the UK and beyond, and it’s always a pleasure to see many return year after year. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or coming back for another stay, we aim to provide a welcoming experience that helps you feel right at home.

We chose this area because we genuinely love it and know it exceptionally well. With the friendly market town of Brampton on the doorstep, and iconic locations such as Hadrian’s Wall, Lanercost Priory, Gelt Woods and Talkin Tarn all nearby, it offers the perfect balance of history, nature, and tranquillity.

We particularly enjoy spending time at Walltown Country Park and the beautiful RSPB Geltsdale, both ideal for peaceful walks and wildlife.

We also regularly visit the stunning Lake District National Park, where we enjoy local agricultural shows and traditional events in spectacular settings, including Grasmere and Ambleside.
