About the host
Your host
I am Nikolas, your host. I come from the prefecture of Ilia, home to Ancient Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Growing up in a small agricultural town, I fell in love with olive trees and olive oil, the life’s work of my parents. These olive groves were my greatest inspiration for creating this home. My lifelong love for wood led me to collect pieces of olive, oak, chestnut, and linden tree, processing them entirely by hand, with my own tools, devotion, and love, to reach the result you see today. My effort is not just to impress, but to invite you to stop, breathe, and relax, activating all your senses so you can truly live a unique experience.
Why they chose this property
This property was my very first home, bought when I arrived in Athens. I lived here until my family grew, and we needed more space. I chose this specific spot in 2007 after a long search, wanting to combine everything: the heart of Peristeri, a quiet neighborhood, and proximity to the Metro station—which, at the time, existed only in architectural plans. After renting it out for years, I decided to transform this space into something unique, blending the Greek tradition of my village with modern comforts, creating a bridge between my roots and the pulse of the city.
What makes this property unique
This is not just a place for a night's stay; it is a sensory journey. Every element is crafted to connect you with the earth: walls with volcanic textures from Santorini, soothing scents of essential oils, and premium linens. You will find family heirlooms everywhere: a 40-year-old mortar, my grandfather's 50-year-old sheep bell, the "katsouridi" stick used for harvesting, my grandmother’s copper cooking pot, and her 60-year-old charcoal iron.
I welcome you with a unique ritual: fresh, handmade sourdough bread and our organic extra virgin olive oil for the traditional Greek "papara"—dipping the bread in the oil to taste the pure essence of Greece. Enjoy our curated "Acousmata from Greece" Spotify playlist, a soundscape you can carry home with you. This is an experience for all your senses—a place to pause, feel, and truly live.
