We sincerely apologize for the experience you encountered. A skunk had offspring on the roof coinciding with your arrival. Unfortunately, they managed to enter the kitchen through a small hole behind one of the cabinets. It took us some time to locate the entry point, but it was eventually sealed, resolving the skunk issue shortly after the guests departed the villa. A specialist company was engaged to access the roof, capture the skunks, and release them in a remote area of Tamarindo. Regrettably, despite our request for the clients to vacate the premises for a few hours to address the issue, they only left for half an hour, making it difficult for us to execute the solution with 16 people still in the house. Eventually, we agreed to provide them with a refund and cancel the reservation. However, they continued requesting additional refunds for taxes, VRBO fees, and other expenses in the following days. We clarified that we had already refunded the maximum amount possible and advised them to address the remaining concerns with VRBO. At Don Vito, we always strive to deliver the best possible experience, and our entire staff dedicated considerable effort and attention to these customers. However, despite our efforts, we received only complaints and no expressions of gratitude. Consequently, since the review solely consists of complaints, I find the comment somewhat unfair.
