The house is situated in a perfect location, close to everything Winterberg has to offer, yet far enough away (7 km) to enjoy the peace and nature of a small town.
The house is fully equipped and offers every convenience: a large dining table near the fireplace for cosy evenings with children, family, and/or friends. A fully equipped kitchen with an oven, microwave, Nespresso machine, dishwasher, blender, and a large American-style fridge-freezer combo with an ice maker—perfect for making a delicious cocktail and/or iced coffee—now that’s a real holiday!
For the children, there is a very nice playground and a grass football field just a 200-meter walk away along a quiet road. The house is otherwise child-friendly, equipped with various games to play, as well as a waffle iron and crepe maker.
The natural surroundings of Langewiese / Winterberg are among the most pristine and highest-elevation areas of the Sauerland. This charming mountain village lies literally on the “roof of the Sauerland,” creating a beautiful contrast between dense forests, open heathlands, and vast valleys.
The absolute gem for hikers in this region is the Rothaarsteig. This 154-kilometer-long long-distance hiking trail is known as the “Path of the Senses” and winds through the landscape right near Langewiese and Winterberg. The trails of the Rothaarsteig have been deliberately kept in their natural state. You’ll mostly walk on springy forest floors, carpets of pine needles, and narrow mountain trails rather than paved roads. This is perfect for long-distance hikers.
