About the host

Your host

Host profile image
Our family has owned this stone house since Ottoman times. We carefully restored it and decided to share it with guests looking for an authentic stay. We've been hosting travelers on another platform for a while, and now we're excited to welcome guests here on Expedia as well.

Why they chose this property

This is where our roots are. Kilitbahir is a quiet, traditional village right on the Dardanelles Strait, with cobblestone streets, friendly neighbors, and just a short ferry ride to Çanakkale city. The area is rich in history: you can walk to Kilitbahir Castle, visit the Gallipoli battlefields, or take a day trip to ancient Troy. It's simple, peaceful, and genuine not overdeveloped. You can also go swimming by walking or 3 minutes drive.

What makes this property unique

It's a real 1880 stone house, not a staged vacation rental. Thick stone walls keep it cool in summer, and the wood-burning stove makes it cozy in winter. We restored it in 2023 while keeping its original character. It's a detached house with a private fenced backyard and patio rare for a village center location. Free parking, good WiFi, fully equipped kitchen, AC, and a dedicated workspace if you need it.
