The Chateau Royale is a great place for out of town guest to stay and explore New Iberia. Families and friends gather to enjoy a home away from home. Right downtown and on the bayou. Two queen bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a loft with two beds for the kids to have their own space. TVs in all rooms, Whirlpool tubs, full kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal or prepare something to grill. #feedyoursoul

The entire unit is for our guest, no other guest will be there.
Free Wi-Fi, and parking. We live nearby if you need us, we may stop in and say hello, otherwise have a great time and enjoy your stay.

We are a 1/2 block off of Main Street in the middle of downtown. There are historic sites, restaurants, and shopping all walking distance. Best time to be here when everything is open is Wednesday - Saturday other days there are still places to see and things to do.

Lots to see and do walking distance, other major attractions can be driven to within 15 minutes. Uber and taxi services are available. Tabasco and Jungle Gardens are only 9 miles away.

Some of the places we recommend in our listing to visit may be closed due to COVID. Please check to make sure your attraction is open. It may get overlooked in our updates.
Washer and dryer has what you need to go home with clean clothes or get caught up from your road trip. Had an amazing time!! I was able to host a cookout for my family. We all gathered on the large deck. My kids enjoyed fishing the bayou. My teen age girls loved the loft, a space to themselves. Thank you for having us!!

Fisrst trip to New Iberia

My wife and I loved the stay, the chatue was even nicer then the description, the location was great, we had such a wonderful time while staying here. The host was wonderful and friendly.

Between the location, cleanliness & beauty of this place, we didn't want to leave!!! The balcony alone was an awesome place to work or relax and enjoy! They had everything we needed except for clothes!!

Feels like home

Simply a fabulous place to stay!

We have stayed at this location one time before and had to cancel due to Covid. We were so excited to come back and bring our family. The unit is so charming and pretty. Truly stocked with everything you could need. The beds are comfy. There is a super cute loft for kids to sleep and hang out. The deck out back over the bayou is beautiful. There is a large table out there to have dinner at and comfy furniture. We all totally relaxed and enjoyed ourselves and the unique things there are to see in the area. Mickey is easy to reach and a very friendly guy. We look forward to returning!

Utterly Charming

We love this property. My husband and I stayed at Chateau Royale for the weekend with our two teen daughters and their friend. The house is beautifully appointed. Mickey and Tiffany have everything you might possibly need available to use - even extra toothbrushes! The deck overlooking the Bayou was a wonderful way to start the day with a cup of coffee and finish the day with a glass of wine. Beds were very comfortable and the girls enjoyed the loft. We liked the proximity to shops and restaurants in New Iberia and we walked to St. Peters for early mass on Sunday. On a final note, Mickey and Tiffany are very accessible and will be very helpful with questions you might have or suggestions for activities. We will be back!

Charming, relaxing, and in the heart of historic area

Our family of four stayed here for one night on the way back to TX from a beach vacation. It was a slice of Louisiana heaven and we wished we could have stayed another night. This historic business building has been beautifully renovated with attention to excellence in craftsmanship. It is artfully decorated, in a warm and welcoming New Iberia style, and has a large deck overlooking the bayou. There are two full bedrooms and baths, with comfy beds, plus a cute loft area that sleeps two kids. Some places provide none of the little things you always forget (paper towels, hand soap, laundry detergent, salt and pepper) but the Chateau had them all, as well as books, games, and other thoughtful touches. So appreciated! Walk one block and you are one the main street with restaurants ranging from Calabrian Italian and sushi, to cajun and new American. It seems like almost every building was built in the 1800's and has a bronze about its history. Walking on we found art galleries, pubs, a museum, a pecan store, and a restored plantation home that can visited. We can't wait to come back to the Chateau and explore more. Thank you so much, Mickey and Tiffany!

Had such a wonderful stay at Chateau Royal! I am from New Iberia, but we have outgrown our family home, so in recent years have needed to find alternative places to stay. This is our new favorite place. It was clean and well stocked. Within walking distance to great restaurants, bars, shopping, City Park. Great view of Bayou Teche from back deck. Plenty of room for family to visit. Mickey made sure we had everything we needed. We needed extra space, and booked Bayou Chateau next door last minute. We hope to stay here again soon!!

Great place to relax!

If you’re looking for a place to stay in New Iberia, stop searching and book Chateau Royale. Great location, extremely nice and comfortable. Perfect place to spend a few days relaxing! The covered porch is a great place to sit and watch the bayou. Really enjoyed our stay can’t say enough good things about the property and owners!

Chateau Royale

We had a great stay! The VRBO is located in old downtown New Iberia and walking distance to restaurants, boutiques, parks, and museums. The hosts were amazing and attentive when we needed some assistance with the P4. It was surprisingly quiet being located on a street. I would definitely stay again.

Southern Louisiana Charm

We stayed at Chateau Royale over the Thanksgiving holidays to visit family. It came highly recommended to us from our family nearby. The experience was better than great. The chateau is clean and cleverly Cajun style with a giant back patio overlooking the bayou (not the prettiest water but that’s no fault of the chateau). Next time we go to New Iberia we will first check on Chateau Royale’s availability.

Return after 40 years

My partner and I came by train from Los Angeles. Meanwhile my son and his familydrove from Atlanta. We met there in New Iberia where my son grew up. The location was ideal, the lodgings delightful, and Mickey was a most attentive host. My son was allowed to bring his dog, a 14 year old mix breed and that relieved a lot of stress for the family. We were also delighted with the neighborhood cat who hung out with us. All in all we struck a good balance of visiting old friends, walking along the bayou and Main Street and just relaxing.

Beautiful Place!

We absolutley loved the Chateau Royale! We woke up one morning at 6 am while a thunderstorm was moving thru and we got to sit on the wonderful porch and watch it move thru on the bayou. The owners are amazing! The place is clean and comfortable. Mickey and Tiffany gave us great info on the town. You HAVE to go to Victors! Its amazing food and people there. Also if your there on the weekend the farmers market!! We LOVED this place and will be back!

Wonderful stay in New Iberia

Our family of 5 (two 17 year olds, myself and my husband, and my mother) spent four nights here for our spring break. We could not have been happier with Chateau Royale!! Location: it was awesome to be able to walk to downtown shops and restaurants but being a block off of the main street, it was quiet. We loved sitting on the back deck and watching the Bayou. My husband fished and our kids kayaked in the bayou. We also enjoyed being centrally located between areas that we wanted to visit like Avery Island, St Martinville, Lafayette, etc. Amenities: the rental had everything we needed! They have thought of everything. Having kayaks to use was a great bonus! Hosts: Mickey and Tiffany were fantastic to answer any questions we had and made great restaurant recommendations! And I love the attention to detail that they have put into the Chateau. We could tell they have taken great care to make it a wonderful place to stay. We would not hesitate to recommend Chateau Royale to anyone planning to visit New Iberia or the surrounding areas and we hope to return sometime soon!!

Unbeatable Location

This is a cool and unique place to stay downtown and overlooking Bayou Teche. Walk to restaurants, cook or grill there, and enjoy the large back deck and waterside fire pit. Breakfast at Victor’s was delicious perfectly southern and the chargrilled oysters and sushi from Bojangles was just steps away. We were there 2 weeks with kayaks. Lots of great paddling along the Teche and at Lake Fausse Point. Enjoyed nearby Avery Island and also Rip Van Winkle Gardens. The folks in downtown New Iberia are very welcoming to visitors. Take in the farmers market if you can. This is the 2nd trip to New Iberia- looking forward to another one. Mickey and Tiffany are very gracious hosts and have many great recommendations to share.

Best ever

Second time for a visit. Love the location, the eclectic decor and all the amenities. Great outside deck to sit and watch the bayou float by, walk to restaurants, shops and bars but yet quiet at night. Soft linens, great living area and kitchen, would not stay anywhere else in the bayou country, a true taste of Louisiana.

Absolutely Adorable

I absolutely loved this lil place. The decor was adorable and I might’ve taken some pics of the interior for future reference in my new house. The location is great. The owners were very sweet and worked with us on needing an extra day. They own the lil place next to it as well and it’s so cute!! I highly recommend staying here.

Being from New Iberia and loving the bayou it has been a dream to own a place on the Bayou. Although we don't live at our rental and don't live on the bayou, for now, we still get to enjoy it. I met my wife as a referral. If you're a guest I can explain. She is an amazing and incredibly hard working woman who after a few months dating and taking her out on my airboat, we were married at the Bass Pro shop in Branson. We both like the outdoors, hunting, fishing, scuba, diving, and repurposing things we find or buy from all over.

Why they chose this property

This building is less than 2 feet from the Bayou Chateau. Sit on the deck and watch the boats and birds in the Bayou. We have families with kids rent the Chateau Royale and the Grand Parents rent the Bayou Chateau.

Due to the limited interactions staff have with guests, and lack of shared amenities and public common areas in contrast to many other lodging options". Vacation Rentals are completely separated and completely independent, featuring kitchens and other exclusive amenities for families. .Located in the middle of downtown, right on the Bayou!
