Cozy Cottage at the roots of the mountain Hekla.
A beautiful and cozy cottage located in the south region.
In the nearest area is the famous mountain Hekla and the entrance to the highlands is just behind the corner, Sprengisandur for example.
"The Golden Circle“ with the world famous Geysir and the beautiful waterfall Gullfoss is a easy one day tour, among many other attractive places in south Iceland.
Within easy driving distance: Numerous luxurious geothermal open-air swimming pools (spas) and golf courses.
60 kilometers away you will find Selfoss, the largest town in Southern Iceland. There, you can do all your shopping, go swimming, or visit cafes or restaurants.
You will also find three of the highlights of popular South Coast day tours, Seljalandsfoss (90km)– the waterfall that you can walk behind, majestic Skógafoss waterfall(120km), as well as the black beach at Reynisfjara close to the small village Vík (160km).
The house can comfortably host 2-4 persons

The blackout curtains are just perfect for a good night’s sleep.

We had an amazing stay and Karl and his wife were so kind and helpful. The cottage was perfect for us with everything we needed. Private and quiet. Would definitely stay again, had 2 nights and did some amazing hiking! Thank you!

This was such an amazing place to stay for a few evenings. So comfortable and clean and delightful. Karl & Jóna were very welcoming and accommodating and even left me a few eggs for my first night which was a lifesaver in the morning. I was very thankful and impressed with their driving instructions to the property which made it very easy to navigate to after a long day traveling. You really couldn’t find a nicer place to stay for a more affordable price. Would definitely stay again and hope to. My only regret is not getting a chance to visit Landmannalaugar which is a manageable drive from the property. Can’t recommend Karl and Jóna’s place enough!

Really gorgeous and cute cottage in the woods about 40 minutes from the town of Hella, with friendly resident chickens!! Karl and Jóna were so kind and welcoming, and their son was very friendly and helpful when we had a little trouble with our car. Totally beautiful location - not too too far from Hella (gas, groceries, restaurant) but far enough that it's totally quiet and very dark at night. We saw the northern lights on our first night there!!Most visitors will have a packed agenda but if you're looking for a short hike, we really enjoyed Fossbrekkur, about 15 mins up the road - beautiful little glacial stream with sheep trails.Gorgeous and cozy well-appointed cottage in a beautiful location!
