Bassenthwaite Lake (6 miles) is ideal for sailing, kayaking and scenic strolls, or head to Whinlatter Forest and Park (8 miles), home to Go Ape, mountain biking trails and rare wildlife. Beyond that lies Keswick (13 miles), known for its shops, eateries and vibrant atmosphere. The coast is also just 8 miles away.
