This house was so cozy and beautiful!! It was much larger than we expected and we loved the open layout with views of the Alcova Reservoir! It felt like home away from home and we will be back again someday.
Awesome property. Awesome view. Awesome access to the town and to fishing. Easy to access, clean, spacious and comfortable for a group of 8 longtime friends looking to fish and catch up. Highly recommend!
The home met our needs as part of a family reunion / 90th birthday party being held nearby. The deck is a great place to watch the stars at night. Overall very happy with our stay. Thanks!
This was our 2nd time staying at this property. Well equipped with everything needed to prepare meals. The house is very comfortable and had chairs to enjoy the deck for relaxing.
We stayed here for a two day fishing trip with the North Platte Lodge and the house was perfect! It was very clean and a wonderful location, about 5 minutes from Alcova dam and the Grey Reef Fly Shop. The view from the deck is outstanding and the house has everything you need for an awesome trip. Would and will definitely stay again!
Guys trip to fish the north platte. The house is ideally located and has amazing views of alcova and countryside. House is well laid out and has everything we needed. We’ll be back for sure.
This property is special. Had a group of fishermen and the house is perfect for a group of friends. The view from the deck is killer! The beds are comfy and the house was clean. Hope to come back next year!
Overall a great stay. Everyone enjoyed the location and the house. John was very responsive. We only had one small hiccup and he handled it immediately. Thanks John we'll look you up next year and maybe this fall for another stay.
This place was beyond amazing, the views, the lake, the surrounding area, the house itself, all exceeded our expectations!! I will 100% be back.

If you have mobility issues know that all the bedrooms are in the lower level about 12 to 15 steps ...down. Over all a wonderful place.

Thank you Sherrie for leaving a note. And just for clarification, we do have a powder room on the upper/main level.
Breathtaking view of Alcova Reservoir and surrounding area from very spacious deck. Three bedrooms downstairs very comfortable for three couples (bunk beds in one of the bedrooms would also accommodate parents and 2 kids). All necessities available. We loved gravel road access 2.5 miles down to lake.
Great property! Perfect place to go relax after a day on the lake. Very clean! Plenty of room for 4 adults and 4 children. Check in was a little difficult with multiple codes not working but property manager(s) were very easy to contact to help. We also experienced a power outage one of the nights after a storm, this was resolved early in the morning after contacting the power company. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this property.

Heaven!
My husband and I have recently moved from Colorado to Cheyenne. We couldn’t have been happier with the property at Alcova. The peace and quiet, the views that go on and on, the deck that is “the place to be”, the privacy and beauty are unmatched.
The home is very beautiful and comfortable. It has it all! All the comforts and privacy within the home. The kitchen is fully equipped and very functional and spacious with very nice dishes, utensils and cookware. We were able to chef it up and enjoy our meals with the sun setting on the lake! Wow! The top floor offers open spaces while the bottom sleeping level is very roomy, private and restful. We loved the accommodations and appreciated the cleanliness and number of bathrooms.
We are very happy to be new residents of Wyoming and are thrilled with our journey to Alcova and the quality of the property where we stayed. Cody even “hooked” up my husband and father in law with a guided fly fishing float on the North Platte with Wes!
Everything was a great success. We will most definitely be returning again & again.
Thank you!

You have certainly captured the essence of why we built here and so enjoy spending time at our Alcova home. Thank you for visiting and sharing!
This was our second time staying at this property and we had another great experience. We had a little issue getting into the house because the lock box battery was dead so we couldn't get to the key. We had to wait a bit for them to come up to the house to let us in. Really only an issue because we needed the restroom after the long road trip! The house was pretty hot upon arrival because they didn't turn the air on until shortly before our arrival but cooled off pretty quickly. We also didn't have water upon arrival. I sent a text to Cody early the next morning and he gave us instructions on how to turn the pump back on and the water heater. A few hiccups but I think it was because no one had been there recently but they were very responsive. I would suggest that instead of two singles in the other bedroom putting in a queen. The bunk room has plenty of single beds and most people travel with another couple which we have done on both of our stays and they had to sleep in single beds.
This house was a great place to spend a long weekend with friends while enjoying the fishing that Alcova has to offer. Sunrise views from the porch were spectacular. House is well equipped with kitchen needs and access was a breeze. I would highly recommend spending time here, I’m eager to make it back!
Wonderful time at the home, very spacious. Stars were amazing at night. House had everything you would need in terms of toiletries, washer and dryer, and condiments. Pathfinder Ranch has some great canyons to drive and see. Definitely sign up for a local angler to take you fishing, even if your a novice like us!

About the host
Hosted by Cody & Carolyn
We are a family of 5 from Colorado. We travel the world, but make our best memories here in Wyoming. Now that our kids have gone to college and beyond, the home is less used. We are self-employed, an engineer and an attorney and both entrepreneurs. We separately hail from Oklahoma and from Massachusetts, so an unlikely pair.
Why they chose this property
We bought this land (120 acres) and built this cabin because it is some of most beautiful land around a swim-able lake we could find, and we live over 4 hours away near Boulder, Colo. The home was designed to maximize family togetherness in an open main level with kitchen, dining, living and a huge deck, all with views of the lake and sculpted ravines nearby. If you like geology, you will find plenty to love here.
