A delightful rural retreat with lovely views over stunning grounds, this single-storey cottage makes a wonderful getaway for couples, friends or a small family. Adjacent to the Lincolnshire Wolds, it’s an excellent base for walking and cycling in this designated National Landscape. Located in the village of North Reston, the cottage is 1.5 miles from a shop and cosy pub in Legbourne. Louth, known as the capital of the Wolds, is 5 miles away, offering a vibrant selection of independent shops and places to eat and drink. Cadwell Park race track is just 9.5 miles away, while the historic market town of Horncastle, the seaside town of Mablethorpe and the Wolds Wildlife Park can all be reached within 17 miles. Not to be missed is the Donna Nook National Nature Reserve (13.5 miles), where you can spot grey seal pups in November and December.
Arrive via the impressive, winding drive to reach this tranquil, single-storey cottage that sits attached to the back of the manor house in which the owners live. For easy accessibility, there is a ramp up to your front door. Inside, the cosy getaway is furnished for comfort and practicality to ensure that your stay goes smoothly. The light-filled lounge boasts a beautiful wooden floor and art on the walls, together with attractive lighting and plenty of soft seating in which to relax. Stream your favourite film on the Smart TV, and light the wood burner for a warming glow. The kitchen/diner includes farmhouse-style table and chairs where you can linger over delicious meals, plus a range of amenities with which to prepare them, including a range-style cooker and a microwave. Two pretty double bedrooms, the larger including a Smart TV, provide restful spaces for a good night’s sleep. These share an elegant shower room and, completing the interior, is a separate WC for added convenience.
The lovely garden is not enclosed, but it is lovely and private, and offers a circular patio with classically styled stone furniture for relaxing in the sunshine – perhaps enjoying a sundowner or an al fresco meal while admiring the grounds. Friendly resident peacocks Eddie and Arthur may parade past, and you can go and say hello to the ducks at their pond beyond the equestrian area. Walk over to the paddocks where the horses are grazing in warmer months, located via the walkway in front of the field shelter. Making arrivals and departures easy, you’ll have private parking for two cars.
