At an elevation of 1,030 meters, the view stretches in all directions over the mountains and down to Lake Søre Økterern. The cabin was built in 2024 and looks brand-new, with large windows that let you watch the changing weather, whether the sun is shining or clouds are rolling in.
Inside, the cabin is stained in a gray-brown color called “lys varde.” Vintage farmhouse furniture gives the space character, while new sofas in both the living room and the loft ensure comfort. Landscape paintings on the walls blend naturally into the serene interior.
Heading down Trollstien, you’ll reach Søre Økterern Lake in about 10 minutes, where you can fish and swim. The neighboring hilltop with a table and bench is a 5-minute walk away, and a round trip to Kupanatten takes about 3 hours. In the summer, sheep graze throughout the area.
In Numedal, there are several attractions, including Langedrag Family Park with wolves and lynx, Nore Stave Church, and Uvdal Bygdetun with Uvdal Stave Church. In Veggli, you can rent a handcar and ride along the disused Numedalsbane railway line.
