We spent 7 nights at Passion Flower Cottage, Redberth Gardens, exploring Pembrokeshire. A car is essential, which we anticipated. Upon arrival, we were surprised by pigs and goats, which delighted our dog but not us due to the smell. The cottage has three bedrooms, a downstairs WC, and an upstairs bathroom with a small bath and shower. The kitchen is well-equipped for six, and the lounge has two sofas and a smart TV with DVDs.* However, cleanliness issues marred our stay, mainly due to the cleaning team (in our opinion). Arriving on a bank holiday after a 7-hour drive, we found the property very dirty and spent two hours cleaning, not the best way to start a weeks holiday!! Key issues included: approximately 20 flies requiring nearly a full can of fly spray to eradicate them, a limescale-covered kettle needing descaling which we had to buy, abundant cobwebs on every ceiling and wall and over cooking areas and beds, a dirty shower with brown grouting which appears not to have been cleaned in ages, a used towel on a door, an empty vacuum cleaner which was filled on our first night, greasy glassware, crockery and pans, a lukewarm shower despite sink taps being boiling, unheated towel rails, unreliable internet, and dirty recycling bins. The A477 noise can be loud at night, so earplugs are advisable for light sleepers. Despite these issues, exploring the area with our terminally ill dog was unforgettable. We’d return to Pembrokeshire but not this property again.
