About this property

Our cottage is very spacious, it has 3 levels with 60 feet of private lakefront with a natural, rustic setting.
Top floor has full bath, and 2 very large loft style bedrooms queen beds each with private deck.
Main floor has queen size bedroom with full bath, fully equipped kitchen including washer and dryer, spacious living and dining room with TV and balcony lakefront deck; large side porch with adjoining 20 foot plus deck.
Bottom floor has large living room. This room has a sliding glass door that opens onto a lakefront deck that accesses a patio dock with bench seat End May through October 1.
In winter, when the lake freezes, our location is perfect for ice fishing and ice sailing as well as local winter activities and events.
Row boat, patio dock, central air & heat, cable TV and WIFI.

We chose to purchase this Waneta Lake property due to it’s 25-30 foot deep waters which make it ideal for water sports as well as year round fishing for bass and musky. The lake is very kayak friendly!

We enjoy all of the activities that the finger lakes offer us to include hiking, biking, kayaking, golfing, antiquing as well as visiting shops and museums to include the nearby “Glen Curtiss Aircraft Museum” and historic “Great Western Winery Tour”.

Most of all we enjoy the breathtaking sunsets and serene starlit evenings from our wrap around deck with family and friends!

***Rentals are weekly only during in season summer months. Sunday to Sunday Mid June through end August. All other times 2 night minimum.

Great lakeside house

The house was just as advertised. Nice accommodations right on a beatify lake. Exterior of house could use a bit of a power wash and updated gas grill but overall everything was great!

Beautiful Lake House!

The property was lovely and extremely clean, and there was a lot of attention paid to detail. It was a very comfortable place to stay. They also left a bottle of wine, which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. This is a perfect place for those who are looking for sleeping arrangements suitable for adults. Three bedrooms with queen sized beds is not easy to find. Two full baths is also not easy to find. (Even a bath and a half is hard to find.) I notice that some have a problem with having to take your shoes off when you are inside. I would recommend that those who have a problem with that simply find another rental. This was a great rental for us, and having to remove our shoes when inside was certainly not a deal breaker.

A relaxing lakeside retreat

We would have given a 4.5 star rating if you can do ½ stars. Mark (owner) was a pleasure to work with, always prompt in his responses. There were some minor things that he was not aware of, but said he will remediate for his future guests (such as having his cleaning person clean the dock, coffee maker having a very slow drip, etc.). Our family enjoyed our stay at this lakefront house, and particularly enjoyed the fishing right off the house’s dock and the lake views on the dock bench. There are a lot of seaweeds by the side of the dock, great for fish to hide in but not inviting for swimmers. Having the use of 2 kayaks from the rental was wonderful to explore Waneta Lake. There is a small gravel area which made for easy entry onto the lake with the kayaks. The water in this lake is murky and not inviting to swim in – we were disappointed by this. The watersport activities on the lake are more active on the weekends; but the lake was very serene during the weekdays. There are steep outside stairs to get to the main level entry, and another set of stairs to the dock. There are similar stairs inside which are less steep, and there is an access door from the parking area that leads into a bedroom. The house gets great afternoon sun; the built-in blinds on the slider doors really helped keep the house cooler. Don’t forget only bed linens are provided; so bring your own towels.

Get Away From It All!

This was our third rental in this location over the last 5 summers. We just keep coming back to it. Mr. and Mrs. Noll are wonderful hosts and everything you see on the listing - especially the photos - is what you'll see when you rent this property. The location cannot be beat - it's silent at night, a great way to get away from it all. You're a 10 minute drive from Keuka Lake ... and close to some very good local farm stands for outstanding fresh produce along the way. Enjoy your time here. Peaceful and serine. This location is perfect for many fingerlake activities. Interior was very clean. There is a Dollar General up the block. They have everything and then some. Communication with the owners was easy. We enjoy this location very much.

Beautiful views

The house was beautiful and clean. The only problem I had was that the property did not provide towels. It did list that in the check in rules but I missed it and had to go to the dollar general to buy some. Just not something I expect to have to bring with me when I travel so I wish it was highlighted a little more. Other than that, everything about our quick 2 night stay was great. The views from the back yard in the fall were just stunning.

Wonderful stay! —One suggestion

Property was clean, and bottle was appreciated! You may wish to replace the stair to get onto the deck from water. I had a mishap! Also because of the missing step I was unable to use the kayak. Overall, definitely recommend the property for those that can handle stairs. Thank you!

Fun at the lake!

We had a wonderful stay at the lake house. My husband and I are from the area and brought our best friends home with us. A gem on Waneta Lake

Beautiful lake house, clean and well maintained. Very close to the lake and access for swimming and fishing is great. A/C works great but open the doors and windows and you get a great lake breeze. The 2 kayaks and rowboat are easy to get to and use and we all enjoyed using them. Kitchen was well stocked and a washer and dryer was a bonus. The berdrooms all had closets and the bathrooms were very accessible and very clean. Bring your own towels and food and you are set for a great week. Close to many wineries on Keuka and Seneca. This is a 3-story house so there are quite a few steps. Close to County Road 25 but not much traffic noise. Parking is limited and the motorists tend to drive too fast. Speed limit is 55 but should be 40 considering the Boy Scout camp is just down the road. Overall a very nice lake rental home.

Nice rental for adults

Very pretty sunsets. House was nicely decorated and comfortable. The house is right on a busy road with no driveway. It worked ok, but we didn't realize it ahead of time. Also, numerous admonishments to not wear shoes in the house plus a couple of other things (e.g., minimal kitchen staples, fire pit with no chairs that we were allowed to use around it) made us not feel especially welcome. I think the house would be fine for a bunch of adults, but it wasn't great for us as a family with kids.

lakeside beauty!

Relaxing few days on one of the smaller Finger Lakes. The cottage is a great central location for all of the local attractions, Watkins Glen, Corning Glass, and of course the wineries. The cottage is well supplied with kitchen utensils and the use of the kayaks and fire pit were a great addition to unwind in the evenings. We enjoyed our stay and will consider this location again for our next visit to the Finger Lakes Region.--The Welkers

Mark has been a social worker, teacher, and retired CO for the State of PA Department of Corrections. Mary has been a Physical Therapist for 40 years and an Assistant Professor at a local College.

Why they chose this property

Mark has been coming to Seneca Lake since childhood and when he and Mary met they came to the Finger Lakes. Their dream was to have their own cottage. Waneta Lake offered it all, warm water for watersports, fishing, wine tasting, and scenic sunsets. And it is centrally located between Watkins Glen and Historic Hammondsport.

What makes this property unique

We love fishing, water sports, the scenic views, pleasant days, and quiet nights at this cottage. Not only is it centrally located, but it is next door to our "other" cottage on Waneta Lake. And only nine miles from our cottage on Keuka Lake. Both of which we also rent. Come stay with us in this serene setting. You will not be disappointed!
