This was one of my all time favorite VRBO stays. The location is so neat and cozy. The main things we needed were a kitchen and access to clothes washer /dryer during a cross country trip. There is a hang out place downstairs as well as a Mexican restaurant. We got to enjoy live music at the Trade and Post and spent a good bit of timing walking all around Del Norte. The kitchen had all kinds of stuff to make cooking meals easy! We bought a few supplies at a shop down the road, but all the important kitchenwares (and more) were already there! I wish we needed to stayonver, but only needed one night. Zero complaints. :)
The apartment is well-located for adventuring around the San Luis Valley and surrounding mountains, with food and drink options nearby if you don't feel like using the kitchen. I hiked more in 8 weeks than I had in 10 years while staying there and rarely drove more than 30 minutes to the trailhead. Laura & Chad are very responsive to any concerns. I stayed there for an extended period for a clinical rotation at the hospital, and found the apartment to be just what I needed. It's nothing glamorous, but it is clean, quiet, and comfortable. I'd definitely stay there again.
